Welcome to Westlake Braves Youth Football and Cheer
Gridiron Academy - Register Now Register now for the 2010 Gridiron Academy. The academy is led by Westlake High Football Coach Jim Benkertand Tim Kirksey. Camp sessions consist of intense fast paced training in limited groups that will cover every aspect of your player’s position including specific techniques, footwork, drill progression, ball handling, and much more. Our goal is to give your athlete the tools that will give him the competitive advantage at the next level. They will be introduced to drills and skills that will give them the advantage mentally and physically over their competition. There are three sessions on the following dates: Session 1: Jan 31, Feb. 7, 21, 28, March 7 Sesson 2: March 14, 21, 28, April 18, 25 Session 3: May 2, 16, 23, June 6, 13 Times are from 9am to 10am for 7,8, 9 & 10 year olds. 10am to 11am for 11, 12, 13 & 14 year olds. Age as of 4/1/2010. Cost: 1 session: $145. 2 sessions: $270. 3 Sessions: $405 Click here to download additional information and the Registration Form. Please come back at that time. 3 Westlake Braves Teams Are GCYFL Super Bowl V Champions Congratulations to Westlake Bantam Blue, Westlake J1 Blue and Westlake Seniors on their victories in GCYFL Super Bowl V. Westlake Bantam Blue defeated Santa Clarita Navy 26 to 8. Bantam Blue finished the season with a 10 and 2 record. Westlake J1 Blue. In a hard fought battle that was scoreless in the fourth quarter, Westlake J1 Blue defeated Santa Clarita Navy 6 to 0. This avenged J1 Blue's only loss of the season and they finished the season with a 11 and 1 record. Westlake Seniors defeated Simi Gold by a score of 30 to 14 and finished the season with a 10 and 0 record. This is the second consecutive undefeated season for Westlake in the GCYFL Senior division. In memory of Cody Badalato, the Westlake Braves have created a scholarship fund in his name. The Cody Baldalato Scholarship is a full scholarship given each year to 2 Westlake Braves football players who exemplify the positive attitude and character Cody exhibited both on and off the football field. The league is seeking donations from the Westlake Braves community to support this fund. If you wish for your donation to be anonymous, please select the appropriate check boxes on the donation form.
