Despite the recent weather, the 2009 season is just around the corner.  The league is now accepting applications for the 2009 draft.  Any interested player over 30 years old who lives or works in Westford is encouraged to submit an application by Friday, March 27.  The application is available in both Microsoft Word or PDF format in the Handouts page (found in the left hand navigation margin on this page).  Please forward the completed application to League Secretary John Bodi.

The One Pitch Tournament to celebrate the opening of the season is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, May 3rd.  Watch this site for more details as the date approaches.

Registration is now closed for the 2009 Entry Draft.  Thank you to all who have submitted their applications.  The draft will take place Monday night, March 30th.  All applicants will be contacted by a league representative with the results.  Due to the large number of entries, not all prospective players will be drafted and a waiting list will be developed from those who go undrafted.  Those who are on this list will also be contacted to inform them of this status.

As part of the festivities, the league will be sponsoring a bbq for all participants and their families.

Regular season play will open on Tuesday, May 5th with Drew Farms and the Mustangs facing off at 6:30, followed by defending champion Healy Oil hosting PST at 7:45.

After a successful One Pitch Jamboree that saw a number of families enjoy the league sponsored barbeque, the count down is on to opening day.  The 2009 season will begin on Tuesday, May 5th, with a match up between Drews and the Mustangs.  The second game will feature a match up between the regular season champ PST squad and the playoff champ Healy Oil.

A reminder to all teams- league fees and waivers for new players must be provided to a league officer before players can participate.

The town has closed the fields, so tonight's games are postponed. They have been rescheduled for this Sunday, 5/31.

At the request of Floral Arts, the 7:45 game between Willis Tent and Floral Arts has been rescheduled.  It will now be played on Sunday, July 12, at 6:45.

In conjunction with this move, the 9 PM game between Healy Oil and PST has been moved up to the 7:45 slot.

With the playoff races starting to heat up as the league is on the verge of entering the final month of the regular season, tonight's games have been postponed due to rain.

The first game on Friday between SCL and Drew Farms has been rescheduled.  It will now be played on Tuesday, August 25th, at 6:30 PM.

Friday night will now hold just two games at 7:45 and 9.

The Healy Oil - PST game that was stopped because of the weather on Tuesday night has been rescheduled.  It will be continued on Sunday, August 16, at 8 PM.  Healy Oil is ahead 1-0 in the top of the second.

A number of schedule changes have caused the regular season to be extended by one week.  Most of the games during the final week will have playoff implications, including which team will be the sixth and final seed for the tournament.

The second round of the play offs will commence on Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30.

With a 6-1 win over Drew Farms on Friday night, the Mustangs finished 18-6 and laid claim to the Regular Season title for the second time in three years.  They finished one game ahead of a resurgent second place season by Floral Arts and are now the #1 seed for the Play Offs.  Floral Arts will be the #2 seed, finishing 17-7.  Both teams are scheduled to resume action on Tuesday, September 8, when they take on the winners of the Round One sereies.  Match ups will not be determined until after the Round One series are completed.

On a cool evening, both PST and Willis Tent came up with wins on Tuesday night, avoiding elimination and forcing a deciding game three to be played in each series.

The deciding games will be played on Wednesday night, September 2.

With a 13-7 win on Sunday night, #2 seed Floral Arts advances to the finals for the first time under their current sponsor.  The win capped a sweep of #3 seed Willis Tent.

In Sunday's early game, the Mustangs, the regular season champs and #1 seed, took a convincing 8-0 win over defending champ Healy Oil.  This win gives the Mustangs a 2 games to 1 lead in the series.  These two teams will meet again on Tuesday night at 7 PM (note the change in start time).  The Mustangs advance to the finals with a win.  Healy Oil needs to win to force a fifth and deciding game.

If the Mustangs should advance, the Finals will start on Friday (9/18) at 7 PM.  If Healy Oil wins, Game 5 will be in that time slot and the Finals will start on Sunday (9/20) @ 5:30 PM.

With a gutsy 5-4 win, Healy Oil has pushed the #1 seeded Mustangs to a decisive game 5 on Friday.  Game time is 7 PM.

Floral Arts awaits the winner, with the Finals scheduled to begin on Sunday at 5:30.

With a 5-inning 15-0 win in Game 5 over Healy Oil, the Mustangs have advanced to the finals and will face Floral Arts for the league championship.  The best of 5 series schedule is as follows:
