Sunday, February 25 Board of Directors Meeting The first Board of Directors meeting has been scheduled for Monday, February 26. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM and will be held at the 99. Sunday, December 10 New Officers Elected, Draft Entrance Requirement Expanded At the league meeting held on December 4, a new President and Vice President were elected to replace the outgoing officers. Chris Smith of Short Cut was elected President and John Hunter of Willis Tent was elected Vice President. A new Treasurer is being sought to replace Chris. Nominations can be made to the League Secretary. In addition, the board voted to expand the league qualification requirement for entry into the draft for the upcoming season. In 2007, residents of Westford as well as those who work full time for a Westford business are now eligible to play in the league. The league rules and bylaws reflecting this change will be presented at the first spring meeting. Sunday, April 8 Board Of Directors Meeting There will be a Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, April 10. It is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM at the 99. Tuesday, April 17 FIELDS CLOSED WEDNESDAY Per order of the Recreation Department, the VFW Field remain closed for all use. All practices Wednesday night are canceled. Friday, April 27 FIELDS CLOSED- ALL PRACTICES ARE CANCELLED FOR FRIDAY (4/27) Wednesday, April 4 2007 Practice Schedule Released The practice schedule preliminary to the 2007 season has been released. Click on the Calendar link to the left to access it. Opening Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 1st, with the feature game of the evening being a rematch between last year's Play off finalists- the Mustangs and Healy Oil. The season is scheduled to end on Friday, August 17, with the play offs beginning the following Sunday. Check the site regularly as the remainder of the schedule will be released shortly. Saturday, April 14 2007 Regular Season Schedule Released Click on either the Calendar or Schedules link to the left to see the recently released schedule. Schedules are also viewable from each team site, specific to that team. They can also be exported to a csv file for import into calendars. Monday, April 30 OPENING DAY Opening Day for the league has finally arrived. On Tuesday night, the first game features a rematch of last season's championship series with defending champion Healy Oil playing the Mustangs at 6:30. At 7:45, regular season champion Z's Sports Shop plays Drew Farms. As agreed by the team reps, all players must have paid their league fee by Sunday in order to be eligible for their team's first game. If weather is an issue for this or any other night, you can check for postponements either at this site or the town web site. They will be posted as soon as available after 4 PM. In the first game of the night, Healy Oil tied the game in the top of the seventh, only to see Willis Tent push the winning run across in the bottom of the inning. After watching that finish, Z's Sport Shop and Short Cut set out to top that game. 11 innings later, Short Cut finally ended the marathon to go up one game in this series. Both Healy Oil and Z's Sport Shop, who between them hold the last four playoff titles, need to win on Tuesday to extend their series. The series will start on Friday night, August 24, at 6:30 PM.
In the first game of the evening, Z's Sport Shop posted a 3 run sixth inning and then hung on for a 7-5 victory that extended their series against Short Cut to a deciding third game. This game will be played at 6:30 on Wednesday (8/22). NOTE- this is a change from the originally scheduled time of 7:45. The winner will move on to face the #1 seed Mustangs on Friday at 7:45.

Saturday, August 25 Bye Teams Roll The play offs continued on Friday night with the first game of the second round series. Both bye teams rolled to easy victories. In the first game, Drew Farms took a 5-2 decision over Willis Tent. In the night cap, the Mustangs made it look easy, scoring in 5 of the 6 innings they hit to take a 7-1 victory over Z's Sport Shop. The series continues on Sunday, with the Mustangs at Z's starting at 5:30, followed by Drews at Willis in the 6:45 slot.
Sunday, August 26 Mustangs and Drews Continue Push for Title With dominating wins in game 2, both the Mustangs and Drew Farms have pushed their opponents to the brink of elimination. In the first game, the Mustangs continued to hit the ball hard while taking advantage of multiple Z's Sport Shop errors. Their 12-7 win puts them one game from eliminating Z's. The second game of the evening saw Drew Farms take an identical 12-7 win over Willis Tent. Willis and Z's are now in the unenviable position of having to win 3 games in a row. Both series continue on Tuesday, August 28. Willis plays Drews at 6:30 and Z's takes on the Mustangs at 7:45.
Wednesday, August 29 Underdogs Bite Back After going down 2 games to 0 in the second round of the playoffs, both Willis Tent and Z's Sport Shop posted wins to keep their series alive. In the night's first game, Willis Tent went up 5-1 and hung on for the 5-4 win. In the night cap, Z's posted 4 second inning runs, then posted another 4 in the sixth to come away with the 8-3 win. Both series will are on break for the holiday weekend and will resume on Tuesday, September 4. The Mustangs are at Z's at 6:30 and Drews visits Willis at 7:45.
Tuesday, September 4 Z's Forces 5th Game, Drew's Advances In the second game of the evening, Drew Farms advanced to the finals with a 19-6 win over Willis Tent. Drews wins the series three games to one. Down 2 games to 1 and with their backs against the wall, Z's Sports Shop took a 6-4 win over the Mustangs in Tuesday's early game. This victory forces a 5th and deciding game on Friday night at 7 PM. The winner of the Z's - Mustangs will meet Drews on Sunday at 5:30 PM.
Saturday, September 8 Mustangs Advance Behind another strong pitching performance from Paul Liguori, the Mustangs defeated Z's Sports Shop 5-3 to advance to the Finals. This years finals will be a match up of the #1 seeded Mustangs against #2 seed Drew Farms. The series will open on Sunday, September 9, at 5:30. Sunday, September 9 Mustangs Take Game One With a 12-7 victory, the Mustangs have taken the early lead in this year's finals. Game 2 will be played on Tuesday night at 7 PM, not at the originally scheduled time of 6:30.
Tuesday, September 11 Game 2 Postponed Due to inclement weather, Game 2 of the Finals series between the Mustangs and Drew Farms has been postponed. Make up will take place on Friday at 7 PM.
Saturday, September 15 Drew Farms Evens Series
With a 7-2 victory in Friday night's game, Drew Farms has evened the series against the Mustangs at one game apiece. Monday, September 17 Drew Farms Wins in Extra Innings
It took 9 innings, but Drew Farms has taken a 2-1 series advantage over the Mustangs with a 10-4 victory on Sunday night.
Thursday, September 20 PLAYOFF CHAMPIONS With an 11-9 win in Game 4, Drew Farms defeated the Mustangs to capture the 2007 Playoff Championship.
