Westfield Youth
Westfield FC was formed in 1953 and granted senior status in 1964. The first and reserve teams play in the Combined Counties League, the U18’s in the Southern Youth Floodlit League,the U16’s in the West Surrey Boys League. Westfield U16's were previously Woking boys until moving to Westfield FC in 1999.
The current U16 side & manager Vic Locke have been together since the 1993/4 season when they started in the Surrey mini footballers league. The following year due to F.A changes they played 7-A-Side in the newly founded Surrey Primary League with all matches classified as freindlies.
In the 1995/6 season they joined the West Surrey Boys League finishing equal top but being pipped on goal average and also reached the Surrey County Cup Final.
1996/7 brought representative honours for some of the players seven representing the district and one the county, that season ended on a high, winning the 5 day R&T Tours national tournament in Bournemouth and being presented their trophy’s by Peter Shilton in Poole Arts Centre.
In the 1997/8 season after two rounds of qualifying they represented Surrey in the NABC S.E 5-A-Side Finals winning the tournament by beating London in the Semi’s & Bucks in the final and again reached the Surrey County Cup final.
The 1998/9 season saw them win the West Surrey Boys League cup, 5 of the boys represented the West Surrey side that won the inter league competition and the side again ended the season on a high winning the Sports Tours Whitsen 5 day tournament in Great Yarmouth.
1999/2000 saw the the team win every game which included the West Surrey Premier league title, the League cup, the Surrey County Cup, the R & T Tours National 5-Day Tournament in Brixham and 8 of the players represented the West Surrey side that won the inter league competition again.
2000/2001 brought a repeat of the previous seasons fantastic achievments again winning the West Surrey Premier league title, the League cup and the Surrey County Cup with many of the players represented the West Surrey Rep side that won the inter league competition for the fifth time in five attemps.
The team has won over 30 summer tournaments since forming and is proud to still have 9 of the original boys who started together in 1993/4 season.
