WELCOME TO THE WESTERN DISTRICTS ATHLETIC CLUB'S WEBSITE

The Western District Athletic Club is located in Adelaide, South Australia.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The club's home ground and clubrooms are based at Ellis Park , West Terrace, next door to the Adelaide High School. The club also has a youth training group at Henley Oval on Thursday nights.

The club's colours are predominantly gold & black, with the "Western District" text in white.

The club caters for athletes of all levels from the social runner to the highest level of competition attainable. Our athletes compete in Athletics South Australia's summer interclub competition and its winter cross country events and also at professional running meetings conducted by the South Australian Athletic League.

The club has several coaches available, in a range of disciplines.

Annual Glenhuntly Challenge

WESTERN DISTRICT – GLENHUNTLY AC CHALLENGE

The 63rd Arthur Beames contest for the AA Theobald Shield: WESTERN DISTRICT (SA) VS Glenhuntly (Vic).

This year Glenhuntly is hosting the 63rd year of the Theobald Challenge with a race in Melbourne. Each year the Theobald Challenge alternates between Melbourne and Adelaide and it has been a club event between Glenhuntly Athletic Club and Western District Athletics Club for 63 years.

The venue for this year’s Challenge is in Melbourne at Nortons Park, Nortons Lane, Glen Waverley.

Date: Saturday 6th June Time: Race time is at 2.30pm, arrival time 2.00pm at the latest please.

Course: 4.9 Km Cross Country on an undulating course. Melways Ref: Map 72 A2 (25/30 minutes from the city).

Parking: Within Nortons Park

Presentations: Prizes will be awarded to first places M & F, Juniors (U20), and Masters (40+) as well as handicap winners M & F (both clubs)

Toilets: Toilet facilities are available at Nortons Park. Shower Facilities: A number of Glenhuntly club members who live handy to Nortons Park and to the Hills, have offered participants the opportunity to shower and prepare for Saturday night at their homes rather than travelling all the way home.

Saturday Night: KALLISTA Tea Rooms, 103 Monbulk Rd, Kallista (Melway Map 75 K3) Time: 6.30pm dinner Cost: $30.00 per head, drinks not included.
