WELCOME to all athletes and their families who are returning for the 2008/2009 summer season after a well earned break, and to those about to experience their first season of athletics. Western District Athletic Club is one of the best run and strongest clubs that offers club continuity from the Junior (Under 14) to the Senior ranks of athletics. We feel privileged to be in this position, and look forward to a long association with all of our athletes and their families.
Whilst this website has a range of information about the club, it is not updated as regularly as it probably should so please ensure you are contactable by e-mail for the most recent news around the club. And please ask any Committee members for help or information if required.
Western District is heavily dependent on its members. Parents, guardians, relatives and friends are required to administer, assist and officiate at SANTOS. ASA urgently needs officials and as one of the biggest clubs in SA, we have a responsibility to provide several officials each week. Your active involvement is necessary for the benefit and development of all the athletes involved each week. More importantly, this involvement will add to the enjoyment of the sport for you and those you support at our club.
It is a busy and enjoyable seven months of athletics in which time we encourage a team spirit at Westerns. To achieve this we all (athletes, parents, guardians, relatives, friends and helpers) need to have a helpful and co-operative attitude in all situations, have a genuine interest and enthusiasm in the activities of the club and show fairness when dealing with others.
With your encouragement and support the Western District Athletic Club and all of its members can be assured of an enjoyable and rewarding season of athletics.
