West Corona Little League: 2010 Spring Season WCLL Divisions
T-Ball is the entry level to the game of baseball for young players, four (4) to five (5) years old. Members of two teams
take turns hitting a ball off a batting tee set on home plate. Batters try to get on base and advance to home. Fielders try
to prevent that from happening. The elimination of pitching allows children to participate without the fear of being hit by
a pitched ball. Tee ball develops the primary baseball skills of hitting, running, fielding and throwing. The players gain
an understanding of the fundamental rules of baseball, and since score is not kept, there are no losers in T-Ball, only
winners! 50 Foot Diamond.
Single A
The Single A division is a step up from the T-Ball level of play. It introduces players to actual pitching. Players league age six (6) & seven (7) who have never played baseball before may start off in this division. There are major differences at this level that separates it from T-Ball. Essentially, the game is played with regulation rules with a couple of notable differences.
Instead of players pitching, coaches pitch. This gives children the opportunity to learn to hit a pitched ball without fear of being hit. Balls and strikes are not called, however a player may strike out swinging.
The focus of Single A is to learn the fundamentals of the game in a format that stresses learning the physical skills
necessary to advance to the next level of play, Double-AA. 60 Foot Diamond
