Mariners Hockey - Westchester Mariners: My Site News: A Great Weekend For Mariners Hockey

March 3-4, 2012 will join the ranks of memorable Mariner Weekends. 6 Mariner Teams took off from school and traveled to New England Sports Center for the March Classic.

When the weekend had ended our Squirt Major in Double OT (4-3) and Bantam Major team (1-0) with a last minute goal had won championships.

Our Bantam minor and Peewee minor teams both went to the finals.

Our remaining two teams, Peewee Major (2-1) and Squirt minors (1-2) also had flashes of brilliance and made us proud.

Back at home our mite level was busy at Playland Saturday. Our mini mite, mite B team played early Saturday morning followed by our older mites who competed in the HVHL Cross Ice Jamboree from 8:15-11:15am. The winners that morning where all the kids who played hard and parents who came and had a great time rooting their children on.

Good Job to all. Special thanks to Bonnie Carnavalla and Julia Rogers for coordinating the hotel in Marlboro and other logistics. Jen Reisner for organizing a Mariner Party room and Steve Tosi for being in charge of the Mariners mite level Saturday and going forward.

A great way to end the 2011-2012 winter season. Now on to spring hockey and preparation for 2012-2013.
