Parents and Coaches
Parents
Parents in West Raleigh Baseball are responsible for adhering to the Parents' Code of Ethics, which all parents signed or approved (online) at registration time. In addition, there are a couple of other duties expected of parents, which are necessary for the league to function:

  • The Home team is responsible for providing adult announcer/scoreboard operator(s) for each game.

  • Each team will be responsible for providing adults to staff the concession stand on a few nights each season, in a rotating assignment. Concession schedules will be published before each season.

Coaches
West Raleigh Baseball Coaches are expected to exemplify the values we aspire to teach - they are focused on teaching sportsmanship, teamwork, and baseball skills to our players. Head coaches undergo a rigorous selection process, including background checks, verification of past coaching experience, and interviews with baseball committee members. Summary feedback from coaching surveys completed by parents is shared with them each season to help them improve each year, and retention of coaches is heavily influenced by these surveys. Coaches dedicate tremendous amounts of their time and energy to the West Raleigh Baseball program and we count ourselves fortunate to be able to attract so many fine volunteers.

Coaches must agree to adhere to the Coaching Guidelines:

Issues/Concerns
The West Raleigh Exchange Club takes great pride in the administration of this baseball program. It is our desire that baseball be a positive growth experience for all the youth involved. Great care is taken in the selection of coaches. As a parent, you spend much more time observing your child's coaches than the Exchange Club and Baseball Committee members. If you have concerns over the behavior of a coach or the way a team is being run, please discuss your concerns with the coach. If you are not comfortable talking with the coach, or you feel further action is needed, please contact the Baseball Committee. Please click here to send a detailed email (including your telephone number)to the Baseball Committee, and a member of the Baseball Committee will contact you.
