Congratulations to the Rustin Rugby Teams for a Spectacular Season!
This season both the boys and girls rugby teams were undefeated heading into playoffs. In playoffs, they faced some of the toughest competition since the establishment of the club.
In the end, the boys finished 3rd in their division with a 7-1 record and the girls finished 4th in the Mid-Atlantic region with a 6-2 record.
The coaches want to thank all of the players for all of their dedication and hardwork. The season could not have been such a success without all of you!!!

In a battle to the death, the Rustin Girl’s rugby team defeated East 34 to 5. The girls have won the right to be called the BEST West Chester Girl's rugby team and took possession of the coveted silver "Challenge Cup"!!! Way to go GIRLS!!!
RUGBY TEAM BONFIRE AND VIEWING OF “FOREVER STRONG” – Friday, May 29th @ 7pm
The Robinson’s will be hosting a bonfire and viewing of the rugby blockbuster “Forever Strong”. ALL players are invited to attend.

WILMINGTON BLUE ROCKS CLUB FUNDRAISER – MANDATORY - Saturday, May 30th
The club will be staffing Concession Stand #2 at the Blue Rocks game versus the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on May 30th. A LARGE portion of the proceeds will go to the club. This is a 6:05pm game with fireworks following the game. We have been working hard to book this and will need the help from players and parents to staff the stand so MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! All players over the age of 16 are expected to help staff the stand. We need to have at least 25 players and/or parents to make this fundraiser a success.
GIRLS EAST vs. WEST ALL-STARS MATCH – Sunday, May 31st @ 12 pm
Tony Deremer, coach of WCU Women’s Varsity Rugby Team, will be using this event plans on putting together both East and West EPRU All-Stars teams this year. This event will be used by the coaches to make their selections for the EPRU U-19 All-Stars team.
Letter to Rugby Parents
No parent/spectator is permitted beyond the rope barrier. All spectators, coaches, fans and players MUST obey the be respectful of the referees, the opposing team and in general "just each other". Please READ the attached EPRU Codes of Conduct. Anyone who is offensive in any way: language or actions, will be asked to leave immediately. Also please remember that we are guests at away matches and to obey any and all posted signs and/or warning.

Transportation
The school district does not provide transportation. Players are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from practices and matches. Carpooling is encouraged and players should notify the coaches of any difficulties with transportation.

- Cleats: A "rugby boot" or soccer cleat is acceptable. Spikes or cleats that contain the single "toe" or hard plastic blades are NOT allowed.
- Extra cleat studs/laces/cleat key
- Underarmor is NOT required, but if you are going to wear underarmor, then it MUST be black. EPRU regulations require that all players are dressed the same for matches.
- Knee-high socks - The club will be purchasing the game socks for the players.
- Navy blue rugby shorts (girls) and white rugby shorts (boys) - Players may purchase last year's shorts from Mrs. Lieberman for $8 or purchase their own from a local sporting goods store.
- Mouth guard: You MUST purchase a mouth guard and bring it to ALL practices/games. You will need to follow the directions on the back of the mouth guard package to conform the shape of the mouth guard to your teeth.
- Clothing for practices: Please be properly dressed. Rugby is not a sport for short shorts, tank tops, baggy clothes, etc. Take that from the players who got clothing ripped last season. It’s always a good idea to wear spandex or compression shorts underneath your shorts too. Fitness attire is expected.
- Scrum caps are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but not required; however, if you have had a previous head injury, concussion, etc., then you will be required to wear a scrum caps during matches.
- Other items to consider but NOT required: shin guards, shoulder vests, etc.

Player Registration Fee: $100 (includes $20 nonrefundable USA Rugby Membership fee)
