Wildcats have "Fun" at Jamboree...boys teams finish 2nd AND 3rd!
The theme for this year's High School Jamboree was to "have fun" - and our kids did just that! The Boys Teams' idea of fun was to simply go out and make a statement as to how strong this year's team might be! The WC Boys Team #1 rolled an awesome 3060 (5 players) to finish 2nd to a very talented Hardin County team. But just as impressive was the WC Boys Team #2 bowling a 2769 series to finish 3rd overall, and ahead of #1 teams from Hendersonville, Mt Juliet, & McGavock! All of our guys had some good scores...here is a quick recap of the boys scores from Saturday:
Team #1 was led by J.R. Clemons with a great 257-663 (2nd Individual Boys!); Fr. Spencer Harp had a very good 238-638; Sr. Krishna Patel rolled 223-606; Jr. Geremy Roseti a 226-580; and So. Chris Branner had a 199-573. Team #2's leader was Jr. Scotty Probasco with a super 223-642 (3rd Individual Boys); Fr. Eric Lane with a nice 206-552; Fr. Michael Whitlow had a 215-544; So. Seth Carey had 246 game (4th Ind. Game) and a 534 series; and Jr. Ryan Peplinski bowled a 197-497. With the Boys #1 Team averaging 204 for the day, and the #2 Team averaging 184, our boys showed great promise for things to come!!
Our LadyCats did have a little trouble at first with the dry, 2nd shift lane conditions. But working really hard to adjust and change balls, the ladies did find some success, and finished 3rd out of 6 teams. High Game for our girls was Dani Chaffin with a 204, and High Series was Brennan Page with a 531. A note of "Congratulations" must be given to Hendersonville bowler Christy King for her near-perfect 299 game! Our ladies have some work to do, but have improved a lot heading into the regular season! GREAT BOWLING, WILDCATS!!

Every WC bowler contributes the right way - earning a "W" for both teams!
Getting playing time if you are not a starter is usually a tough thing to come by once the season begins. But that was not a problem for either team in match #1 vs. Franklin, as every bowler on both teams got to bowl in the match! The Wildcat Boys got off to a great start in game 1, winning 6-2 with a 1253 - 1094 score. Jr. Geremy Roseti led the way for the boys with a great game of 253, and had the high 2-game series with a 438. No bowler bowled all 3 games today with everyone receiving playing time in this match! Final score in the match was 21-6 WC. Other good individual scores were: Seth Carey with a 236-430; Ryan Peplinski with a 231 game; Fr. Spencer Harp with a nice 205 game; and So. Chris Branner with a 202. Great start, 'Cats!! P.S. A "congrats" to Franklin bowler Kenz Sherwood for his nice run at a 300 game - he finished with a 279 game - 720 series!
The LadyCats started off this season with "business as usual," as they cruised to a 22-5 victory over the Lady Rebels of Franklin. Leading the way was So. Dani Chaffin with a great 225 game and 406 series (2 games). Also, Jr. Brennan Page had a nice 194 in game 2. This win is the 48th CONSECUTIVE Regular-Season victory for the LadyCats!! How long they can go is anybody's guess...but my feeling is it will continue for awhile!! AWESOME job, LadyCats!!

Wildcats earn first district win, roll over Ezell-Harding 23-4!
The WC boys team came off of their one week break refreshed and ready to bowl, and it showed! Winning 15 of the first 16 points in two games, the 'Cats rolled over Ezell-Harding by a final talley of 23 - 4. The boys started off game 1 with several missed spares, but about the 4th frame settled down and finished very strong, rolling a nice 1238 total in sweeping all 8 points. Just as he has done most of the pre-season, JR Clemons led the way as the only bowler to roll all 3 games, finishing with a super 256 game and a great 707 series! The best part of his series was the fact that JR had NO open frames - a "clean" set! Outstanding day, Mr. Clemons!! Other great scores were: Devon Stewart with a 225 game & 429 total (for 2 games!); Geremy Roseti - a 219 game & 408 (2 gms); Chris Branner with a 205 game; and Spencer Harp a 204. Great start, 'Cats...2 and 0 and more to go!

LadyCats cruise, Wildcats challenged at Lebanon
Thursday at Lebanon was another day of wins for our teams, but the victories came in contrasting styles! The girls cruised to another easy win, rolling over the Blue Devilettes 23-4. But, the boys win didn't come without a fight, as they were down after 2 games, but caught fire in game 3 and zipped to the finish with a 17-10 victory! The boys lost game 1 2-6, but only lost total pins by 20. Game 2 was again very close, but the boys finished strong and evened the match 8-8 after 2 games - but were still down by 11 pins at that point. The Lebanon boys seemed to tire in game 3, and led by Geremy Roseti (238) & JR Clemons (231), our 1173 in game 3 was 205 pins better than the Blue Devils, allowing our victory. Other good scores were: Spencer Harp with a 236-605; Devon Stewart with a 207 game; and JR Clemons with a 628 series. This match was a great test to see how our guys would respond to being down in a match, and they more than proved they were up to the challenge! GREAT JOB, 'CATS!!
Our LadyCats earned win #49 in-a-row (regular season) by a 303-pin margin, bowling a 2715 total to Lebanon's 2412. A new leader rolled her new high series ever today - Ms. Kaitlin Page bowled super on games of 204-175-209 for a 588 series! Also, Dani Chaffin had a nice 200 even in game 1. Great win on the road, LadyCats! Keep up the good work!!

LadyCats earn milestone 50th consecutive regular-season victory...Wildcats go to 4-0
A huge round of applause goes to the Lady Wildcats after today's win, which was the 50th consecutive regular-season victory! This is truly an unbelievable milestone - something that our statistician Karen Baker pointed out as not having been accomplished anywhere in Wilson County HS sports!! The LadyCats win today was very much an easy one, as they won 27-0 against the new school in our district - Cane Ridge. Cane Ridge only had 4 girls so the outcome of the match was never in question - only how good the girls could bowl. And they did well...rolling games of 1008 & 1038 in games 1 & 2! High scores today were Dani Chaffin with a 204 - 386(2); Laurel Everett with her first 200 game - a 202!; and congrats to Fr. Brittany Sisco with her high game so far of a 168! Good day, LadyCats!
The Wildcats also had an easy time with the new bowlers, duplicating the girls' win 27 - 0. Good scores for the boys today were: Spencer Harp with a 246; JR Clemons a 225; Chris Branner a 207; and Geremy Roseti with a 205 & 200. Keep moving forward, guys...4 & 0 but a long way to go!!

LadyCats roll on 27-0, 'Cats win easily 22-5 vs. Friendship Christian
Both teams bowled well today @ Pro Bowl West in Lebanon, winning easily over Friendship Christian HS. The LadyCats had their 2nd straight 27-0 sweep, with the starters rolling good games of 974 & 1028. Top individual girls were Dani Chaffin with a 202 game; Kaitlin Page a 197; and Fr. Elizabeth Callas with a new high game of 194! Ladies will have their first test of this year against Mt. Juliet next Tuesday!!
The Wildcat boys also won easily 22-5. A nice, balanced effort and lots of getting "what we need" at the end of games to win points! Good efforts were: JR Clemons with a 233 - 635; Spencer Harp with a 215 - 611; and Seth Carey with a nice 210 game. Way to bowl, guys!! Now it is on to our anticipated match with Mt Juliet next Tuesday. Be there...you won't want to miss it!!

New School Records for the LadyCats' 52nd straight win...Wildcats fall to MJ once more
Like a rocket ship to the moon...today was the day that our LadyCats "took off to new heights" with a resounding victory over the MJ Lady Bears 21-6! The girls soared to a school record game & series today, rolling 1129 in game 1 while sweeping all 8 points, and finishing with games of 1100 and 1007 for a 3236 series! While the match was decided after 2 games, Coach let all the starters stay in to answer the question "How good can we be?" Well, rolling over 1000 for all 3 games for the first time, breaking the series record by over 150 pins, and winning for the 52nd time in-a-row definitely answered that question!! The Lady Bears are a good team, and much improved over last year. Our ladies were simply that much better today! Jr. Brennan Page was the leader she has worked so hard to be, rolling a super 235 game & (personal best) 637 series; Dani Chaffin had a great 223 game; and Fr. Laurel Everett also had personal bests with a 207 - 570!! These ladies proved today that they can "roll with the big dogs" and I am sure there is more to come! LadyCats now 5-0 on the year. Great job, LadyCats!!
The Wildcats didn't fare as well, falling to MJ by a score of 10.5 - 16.5. The guys got off to a slow start, losing game 1 by 110 pins - and never seemed to fully get "on track." We did have some good individual performances: Geremy Roseti led today with a awesome 267 game - 680 series; Seth Carey had a great 247; Chris Branner finished with a nice 226; and Devon Stewart rolled a 223. Too many missed spares...lots of splits...and not getting the "important" strikes when we needed them - all led to our loss today. We will try to "right the ship" next match. Wildcats now 5-1 on the season.

Boys & Girls both roll easily over Antioch
The Wildcats & LadyCats rolled over Antioch HS in easy fashion, with the boys winning 25-2, and the girls sweeping all 27 points! Boys move to 6-1 on the season.
Our LadyCats definitely know how to win the points! With all 12 bowlers contributing, the WC ladies swept by Antioch 27-0! Led today by Dani Chaffin with a nice 190-192, the machine keeps rolling along - now at 53 straight regular season wins!! GO WILDCATS!!
Thursday, November 6
Our Wildcats beat their Wildcats! DCA falls as boys win 19-8, girls sweep 27-0!
Donelson Christian Academy became the 54th straight team to go down in defeat to our LadyCats, as the girls rolled 27-0 today...the 4th time this season they have won by that margin! Jr. Brennan Page was all over it today, rolling her new high series with a super 662! Consistent all day, Brennan had games of 217, 221, & 224 to lead the LadyCats to the sweep. Also, Dani Chaffin had a nice 214-562; and, congrats to Sr. sub Tyre Blackman, who got the start today on "Senior Day" and rolled her high game this year, a 176! LadyCats move to a 7-0 record this year. Simply awesome, ladies...keep it up!
The Wildcats picked up the pace a little more today, and won 19-8 over the DCA boys. Leading the way was Fr. Spencer Harp with a 246-680. The guys were tied in points after game 1 4-4, but won the game by 70 pins, thanks to Geremy Roseti's great 244 game, and Harp's 235. Coaches Kenny & Mark both asked the boys whether they wanted to "take control" or "be controlled" - and they answered with a 1302 game 2 - our highest team game in over a year! After that, they cruised home with the win. Also contributing today were: Geremy Roseti 644; Seth Carey with a 230 game; & JR Clemons with a 214-601. Boys are now at 7-1 as we near the halfway point of the season. GO 'CATS!!

Brennan Page nearly shoots a 300 game, both teams roll over Glencliff
Someone recently observed Brennan Page's hot hand of late, and said "I believe Brennan is going to break the school record high game of 287 soon!" Well, today she almost did! Starting game 2 with the first nine strikes, Brennan rolled a nice shot in the 10th frame, but it came in a little light leaving only the 2-pin. She got the spare, and finished with a strike and a new high game of 279!! WOW!! Brennan's super game & 653 series led our LadyCats to a 26-1 victory over Glencliff. The ladies were just off the school records set a few weeks ago vs. Mt Juliet - an 1125 game & 3179 series today. Also rolling good today were: Dani Chaffin with a 214-570; Kirstin Page with a 208-558; and Laurel Everett with a 202-511. LadyCats are now 8-0 on the season, with the regular season win streak now at 55 matches. GREAT DAY, LadyCats!!
The guys came to play today also, and they did it without freshman starter Spencer Harp, who was out sick today. Rolling games of 1269 & 1331 in games 2 and 3, the boys cruised to a 25-2 win over Glencliff. A big "C'mon" for So. Seth Carey, who rolled his first-ever 700 series today with a big 718, on games of 247-223-248!! High game for the day was Devon Stewart with a nice 255 in game 3!! Devon also had a 662 series. Other nice scores today: Chris Branner with a 225-220, 626 series; JR Clemons with a 223; and Krishna Patel off the bench with a nice 213 game. Wildcats are now at 8-1 on the year, only 1 game behind Mt Juliet in the District standings! Go WILDCATS!!

JR Clemons hits perfect 300 & 815 series - leads Wildcats to new school record score!
JR Clemons just wanted something nice for his birthday tomorrow. So, he proceeded to give himself the gift he really wanted - his first 300 Game & 800 Series - a super 815!! Rolling games of 236-279-300, JR finished his series with the last 22 strikes in-a-row! His unbelievable day led the inspired Wildcats to their best day ever, shooting games of 1311, 1273, & 1315 for the new school record score of 3899! Coach Mark made a point prior to this match to show the guys "on paper" how good they really are. I believe they know now just what Coach was saying! Most all of the 'Cats rolled well today - Geremy Roseti had a 262 in game 3, and a very nice 703 series! Devon Stewart rolled 233-638; Spencer Harp had 232-604; and Chris Branner with a 232-602. Oh, I guess it should be mentioned that the boys DID defeat Ezell-Harding 26-1. Team is now 9-1 on the season. Awesome day, Wildcats...more to come, I am sure!
We can't forget those LadyCats...and we won't! With another strong showing today, the LadyCats move to 9 and 0 with their 26-1 victory over Ezell-Harding. Leading the way was Dani Chaffin with her personal bests this season, a 227 game & 581 series! Also, Kirstin Page had a 204-525. "The Streak" as it is now being called is at 56 matches. Super, LadyCats!!

LadyCats roll a school-record game again with 1169; both teams win over Lebanon
Our LadyCats take top-billing again today, as they set a new school-record game with an 1169 in game 2, leading to an easy 26-1 victory over Lebanon at Hermitage Lanes! Brennan Page & Dani Chaffin were both very hot in games 1 & 2, with Brennan rolling 237 & 235 while finishing with a great 641 series; and Dani bowled a 200 & 222, and ended with a nice 570 series. Lots of good scores all around today - Kirstin Page kept up her hot hand, with a 210-585; Kalli Crowell (191) & Brittany Sisco (181) both rolled season-high games; and Kaitlin Page (190) & Elizabeth Callas (175) also contributed to the teams' great 3230 series today! "The Streak" runs to 57 matches...keep it up, ladies!!
The Wildcats won a very important match today vs. Lebanon. In moving to 10-1 for the first time in history, the 'Cats 20-7 win all but secured a minimum of a #2 seed in the district tourney, and set up our December 4th match vs. Mt Juliet as a chance to takeover the top spot!! Chris Branner led the way today with a solid 636 series, on games of 223-202-211. Spencer Harp had high game today with a nice 224. And while the guys were not "spectacular" today, they were very steady and got the strikes & spares when needed! Good job, Wildcats!!
Friday, November 21
All team members contribute to a 26-1 win for both teams against Cane Ridge
Yesterday's match vs. Cane Ridge was another opportunity for all of our bowlers to "get in on the action!" And several of our subs took full advantage of the chance to bowl in a match, as we had a few new high games rolled at Cumberland Lanes! Both boys & girls won 26-1, and for the guys it was Jr. Geremy Roseti leading the way with scores of 236-634. Off the bench, it was Fr. John Petty rolling 210, Fr. Eric Lane with a 200, and Jr. Scotty Probasco with a nice 211 game! Boys now move to 11-1 on the season! Go 'Cats!!
The ladies did OK in all 3 games as a team, and a few individuals rolled well too! High Game went to So. Dani Chaffin with a 207; high series was Fr. Laurel Everett with a 501, as she was the only bowler to roll all 3 games! A special shout out for Fr. Brittany Sisco for her new high game of 199; and Fr. Elizabeth Callas with a nice 170 in game 2. LadyCats now 11-0 on the season, and "The Streak" is at 58 wins. Awesome job LadyCats!!

Another School Record? Yes, the LadyCats "strike" again!
The WC LadyCats take top billing again today on yet ANOTHER school record score this season, this time breaking the series record by ONE PIN with a super 3237!! Brennan Page led the way today with a great 236 game & 600 series, but it's the bowler in 2nd place that really stepped up today. Fr. bowler Kalli Crowell, making only her 2nd start (Kaitlin Page was absent today), rolled an awesome 213, 212, & 144 for a 569 series! Kalli's scores were personal bests, and way over her season average of 135! Way to go, Kalli! Other good scores were: Laurel Everett with her season-high game of 213; Dani Chaffin with a 557; and Fr. Brittany Sisco still improving every day with a 185-522! Our LadyCats move to 13 - 0 on the season, winning 27-0 over Friendship Christian and "The Streak" reaches 60 regular season matches!! Way to go, ladies!!
The Wildcats took care of business today as well, with a 23-4 win over an ever-improving Friendship Christian team. Total pins were 3460 - 3070, but the first two games were both close until the final two frames! JR Clemons leads the way again, this time with a steady 225-650. Other good scores today: Seth Carey with high game at 242, and a 603 series; Spencer Harp with a 221-608; Chris Branner with a 215 game; and Geremy Roseti with a 204. The boys move to 12 - 1 on the season. Awesome job, Wildcats!!

"Code Blue" rings true...Wildcats & LadyCats both claw their way to victory over Mount Juliet
What an incredible, exciting afternoon of High School Bowling was had today at Hermitage Lanes!! The Wildcat Bowlers "scratched and clawed" through their matches today and at the end came out WINNERS!!
The Wildcats won their most dramatic victory yet with a roller-coaster, nail-biting, wild finish in game three - slipping past the Mt Juliet Bears by only 3 pins, winning 3709 - 3706 and match points 14 - 13!! For 12 bowlers to roll 3 games and it come down to the final bowler, well...it simply can't get much more exciting!! Seth Carey stepped up in the 10th frame needing two strikes & 7 pins for us to take the win, and he did it!! With two beautifully rolled strikes, and a 9-count on the final shot, Seth sealed our victory!! Equally as important that game, Fr. Spencer Harp needed to get a double & nine to win his point, or Seth's chance would have never come...and Mr. Harp did just that, winning his point 248-247! The guys started off in game 1 like they were going to run away with the match, winning 6-2 with a 1292 - 1187 start. But game 2 we had a small letdown, with JR Clemons' 254 game as our only 200+ game, we lost that one by 47 pins. Still up 9-7 in points, and by 58 pins total, we should have been in control. But Mt Juliet did what they ALWAYS do - they kept on striking! After 7 or 8 frames, it really looked like our guys were done. But they kept clawing, got a little help from the other side, and finished with a win!! Heroes were all around today - team leader JR Clemons again led the way with a super 254-723; Seth Carey rolled 237-652; Spencer Harp had 248-629; Geremy Roseti shot 230-607; Krishna Patel 200; and super sub Fr. Eric Lane, who came in during that important third game and shot 44 pins over his average with a great 199 game! What can we say, Wildcats...you guys were AWESOME!!
Not to be out-done, the LadyCats continued their record-setting, winning ways. With a school record 1181 in game 1, the ladies also got off to a great 6-2 start. But they too had a little "letdown" in game 2, losing it 990-977. Still, up by a 9-7 score and +69 pins in total, we were in control of our destiny. And our 61st consecutive regular-season win was the result, as the ladies won game 3 by 80 pins! Their 17-10 win was a great victory over a very improved Lady Bears team, who rolled their own high series of the season with a 3051. Our 3200 series was the third time in the past four matches the LadyCats have bettered 3200 total pins. Individual stars today were: Brennan Page with a 230-624; Kirstin Page with her high game & series of the season, 221-611; Fr. Brittany Sisco with her new high game of 208!; and, Dani Chaffin with a 202. WAY TO GO, LadyCats!!

WC teams one step closer to #1 seed - cruise by Antioch at Cumberland Lanes
While it wasn't pretty by any means, and the scores were definitely not up to par, both WC teams cruised to easy wins today vs. Antioch at Cumberland Lanes. The Wildcats jumped out to an 8-0 win in game 1, and eased home with a 23.5-3.5 victory. A balanced effort was achieved today as no one broke a 600 series, but a few were close - Geremy Roseti led the way with a 594 (223 game) Spencer Harp was next with a 216-592; and Sr. Krishna Patel had high game today with a nice 225, & finished with a 588 series. Seth Carey also had a good game with a 224 in game 2. The 'Cats now have a 7.5 point lead over Mt Juliet in the close District standings...only two more matches left!!
The LadyCats bowled good shots today, but the pins didn't seem to want to go down! More "9" counts today than I think I've ever seen.... but it is all OK after an easy 26.5 - .5 win! No 200+ games today for the ladies - Kirstin Page led all bowlers today with a 190-506. "The Streak" is now up to 62 straight regular season wins! Two more left on the season, LadyCats...let's finish strong!!

Boys win a surprising thriller over upstart DCA; Girls lock up #1 seed
After nearly a month off from competition, we coaches always worry whether or not the team will be "ready to play" again. After today's match vs. DCA, I know that their boys were most ready, but our guys stepped up when needed and came together as a TEAM to pull out a hard-fought win 14.5 to 12.5! Rolling a very good 3589 series with a balanced effort from all, our Wildcats bowled scores in games 2 & 3 that we normally roll at home! But they needed every pin as DCA shot a 3543 series, with 8 200+ games! This score was over 300 pins higher than their previous high, but with the addition of Justin Turner back into their lineup, we knew they were capable of some better scores. Our team was led by Fr. Spencer Harp with a great 256 game & 636 series. Other good scores for us were: JR Clemons with 225-634; Chris Branner with a 218-612; Geremy Roseti 201-590; and Sr. Krishna Patel with a nice 234-594. With only 1 more match left in the regular season, our boys need a great performance on Thursday vs. Glencliff to take the #1 seed for the first time ever! GO 'CATS!!
The LadyCats HAVE the #1 seed after today's 25-2 thrashing of DCA! Dani Chaffin led the way today with a nice 199 game & 535 series, as the match was in hand after 2 games. Congrats, LadyCats on your super season - 1 more to go for a FOURTH PERFECT REGULAR SEASON IN-A-ROW!!
Thursday, January 8
Wildcat Boys grab #1 seed for first time ever! LadyCats finish undefeated for 4th year in-a-row!
Facing some of the toughest lane conditions we've ever had, and on a day when so many points were needed to reach our goal, the Wildcats came through with exactly what they had to - 23 points and a #1 seed in the District 10 Tourney next week!!! With both Mt Juliet & the Wildcats finishing with identical 15-1 records, the next tie-breaker was total points won for the season. And with our 23-4 win over Glencliff, WC & MJ finished tied in points with 338.5!! And so the next tie-breaker being total pinfall for the season, our boys win that by a few hundred pins!!! Think about it for just a moment...16 matches, 27 points possible each match, and if we would have lost just one more point ANYWHERE in the season, this #1 seed would not be ours!! INCREDIBLE!! A very big CONGRATULATIONS to this Wildcat Boys team for completing the best regular season record yet at WC, and our first-ever #1 seeding!! Fittingly, our scoring leader today was our only Senior - Krishna Patel with a 198 game & 530 series, and tying for high game was Geremy Roseti. Again, I can't stress enough how TOUGH Cumberland Lanes played today - everyone struggled to find a shot AND to make their spares. And yet we prevailed...this team truly has HEART!! Way to go, Wildcats - now take it as far as you can in the post-season!!!!
Also, a huge WAY TO GO to our LadyCats for their FOURTH-STRAIGHT undefeated regular season, and for stretching "The Streak" to an incredible 64 straight regular season matches!!! For those of you just tuning in, "The Streak" started in the 2004-05 season, when we were in District 7 instead of 10, and had to bowl at different centers against different teams!! These LadyCats keep building and getting stronger every year, and after three trips to STATE in the past four years, maybe this year we can bring home THE BIG PRIZE!! A lot of work to be done in the post-season, though. Work hard, LadyCats....let's show everyone you can do it!!
