The Informal workout will be Saturday November 14th from 1 PM to 3:30 PM at Woodland Baptist Church in the Wake Forest area. I have attached a link for directions. http://www.wbchurch.com/directions.html There is only one ball field and it is pretty easy to find. Have your boys bring their full practice attire based on the weather. Cups are required. We will hit, field, run and throw from all positions. Catchers need to bring all their catcher's equipment. If there are any players who have sore arms and cannot throw 100% then please let me know when you arrive. If there are players who intend to pitch then let me know ahead of time. If there are dads who would like to help then I would appreciate it. Be sure to bring your glove. The reason I would like to have an informal workout or two prior to the formal tryout is that it does two things. First, it should take a lot of pressure off a player who is trying to make a great impression for a coach and a one-day exposure can be sometimes too much. Secondly, apart from perhaps 3 players I have no previous knowledge of any players trying out for the squad so it allows me to see them more than once. Let your sons know that they should come to practice hard. Informal workout means that this is NOT the formal tryout. However, I want them to hustle and get comfortable with me and know what is expected come December 12th. I know that this is short notice and if your family had prior committments then I understand.
