Remembering our Club Founder and Friend
The Warren County Jr. B.A.S.S. Anglers was founded in 2004 by Joseph Thomson. Tragically, Joseph was killed in an auto accident October 3, 2006. Joseph loved fishing and wanted to share his passion with others so he formed the Warren County High School Jr. BASS Anglers club to introduce the sport of fishing and conservation to our youth. He was a Virginia State Jr. World Qualifier in 2004 by finishing second in the Jr. World Championship in Williamsburgh, VA.
I remember when I first heard about the club, I was so excited because my son loved fishing and I thought this would be perfect for him. And it was....here we are three years later and I've watched my son and the other boys/girls grow into fine anglers. My son has experienced so much he would never have known existed had it not been for Joseph starting the club. There is so much more to fishing than just a pole and a few worms. Joseph had such a passion for fishing and now his passion has become their passion and will continue through each new member. Joseph made a profound impact on everyone he knew, we will never forget him!

Because of you
It takes a special person to make a difference in this world.
It takes only one voice, One person to believe it can be,
One random act of kindness, One encouraging word,
All can have a ripple effect in the lives of others.
To be able to do what you loved and share your experiences
and lessons learned with others who may have never had the
chance to experience the same says a lot about who you were.
Because of you
My son is able to do what he loves. To experience everything
there is about fishing.
Because of you
Ive learned that fishing is more than a pole and a few worms.
There are techniques, different baits and different water conditions.
You need at least five poles each set up with different lures, jigheads,
spinnerbaits and all the others that fill my sons tackle bag.
Because of you
My son has traveled to places he never would have gone,
Experienced tournaments he never would have known existed.
He would still be fishing off the bank with a pole and a few worms.
Because of you
We have a fishing club that introduces a whole new world of
fishing to our youth. Im sure at the time you did so just
because you loved fishing along with your friends. But what
you probably didnt realize is how youve changed the lives
of others, how your passion became theirs.
Because of you
Today, tomorrow and down the road you will continue to give
young fishermen the chance to experience what fishing is all about.
We will never forget you
Avid fisherman, role model, founder of our club and true friend.
You will live on in each of our hearts and memories.
