Links to Drills and Practice Plans

Below is a link to a web site called "Footy 4 Kids".  This site has drills, games, practice plans and even a coaches manual.

http://www.footy4kids.co.uk/basic-soccer-skills.htm

This link should take you to the page "How to teach basic soccer skills". Below that title find the link called "Practice Plans" and click on it. Then on the next page scroll down to "Gavin's 8 week practice plans" and click on it. Then you can pick the coaching manual  for U6, U8, U10, U12 and U14.

The website offers information on how to organize the practice, warm ups, practice plans, games and drills. It is a good resource for all NEW Coaches.

Game Days...

Arrive at field 30 minutes before your game is scheduled to start.

Do not assume that your field has already marked.  Your team will have to mark up the field especially if your game is the first game of the day.  The last game of the both teams are responsible for taking down the goals.

Sideline Behavior & Sportsmanship Points

 WAYS has ZERO TOLERANCE policies:

  • Foul language isn't tolerated on side lines or practice fields.
  • We will not allow adults to yell at children.

Coaches please keep your sidelines under control. You have every right to ask an out of control parent to walk away from the game and cool off.  Be advised that Sportsmanship points will be deducted for yellow cards issued to coaches or spectators.

Please note that the individuals that have violated these regulations are subject to disciplinary proceedings in front of the Protest, Appeals and Disciplinary (PAD) Committee.
