ZERO TOLERANCE!!!

Attn: Coaches, Team Parents and Parents 

It has come to our attention that some parents and coaches got out of control this past weekend.  WAYS has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy.  We will not allow foul language to be used on the side lines or practice fields.  We will not allow adults to yell at children.

Please note that the individuals that have violated our regulations will be brought in front of the Board for disciplinary actions.

The Coach needs to control his/her sidelines.  You have every right to ask an out of control parent to walk away from the game and cool off.   

Remember that the parent, coach and the team can be carded, the game can be stopped and the team can lose sportsmanship points.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE

October 9, 2009

W.A.Y.S. Members,

It has been brought to my attention that members of our organization have been using the Hillview Middle School Buildings as restrooms during practices. W.A.Y.S. provides regularly maintained and stocked Port-a-Potties at the school for our use. The coaches have the combination to the locks and are responsible for opening when they are first to arrive and closing them after the last team leaves. This is not only very disrespectful to the school but it also presents a health risk to the students that attend Hillview and the public at large. At a time when practice space for youth sports is on the decline, these types of actions will cause the league to lose the use of the school and cause negative attention to W.A.Y.S. from the city of Whittier. This is unacceptable.

Effective immediately, the Hillview Middle School custodial staff has been instructed by the school to be more diligent during practices and if they witness anyone doing anything to the buildings, they are not to confront the offenders, but approach the coach on the field. That information will be delivered to me or any Executive Member of the Board of Directors for W.A.Y.S. and the following disciplinary action will take place:

1.      The Coach of the offending team will be suspended for one game and must be brought before a Disciplinary Committee for further review. THERE WILL BE NO VERBAL WARNING!!

2.      The offender(s) name(s) will be given to the school principal for any criminal charges to be filed by the school district.

3.      A second offense will result in the suspension of the offending teams’ Coach and if no Assistant Coach is listed, will not be allowed to practice for the remainder of the season. The team will be allowed to play on Saturday, but with a Board Member filling in as an interim coach.

4.      Any additional offenses will be brought up before a Disciplinary Committee and the City of Whittier Youth Sports Council for further action.I ask for your help in this matter, as we are guests of Hillview Middle School. They have welcomed us on to their campus and this, by no means, is the way to pay them back for their hospitality. Thank you for your attention.

We all love our dogs, but we have to leave them at home during practices and game days.  Help us make sure that we keep our fields and please leave your dog at home.

You will be asked to leave the field if you have your pet with you.

NO PARKING IN THE FIRE LANE @ HILLVIEW

If you park in the fire lane your car will be TOWED!!  Please make sure to park in an appropriate parking spot.
