Monday's Feb 1st Meeting
WAYS would like to thank all those who attended our Board Meeting on February 1st. As many of you were made aware, our Board was caught un-prepared for the impromptu election that took place for Director of Coaches. As many of you are unaware, Cal South deemed the voting that took place invalid as guidelines and procedures were not followed correctly.
After long discussions on how to best accommodate two long time dedicated volunteers with years of experience with WAYS, changes to our Bylaws will be presented at the General Meeting scheduled for February 16, 2010. These changes will be in line with other leagues, allowing for additional resources to be provided to all coaches.
Our league was short 28 coaches last August and the position of Director of Coaches was overwhelmed in trying to recruit parents to fill these vital roles, making our children’s soccer experience a positive one. By increasing the number of Board positions related to Director of Coaches to three opposed to one, this challenge will be easier to manage and will improve our league. The three said positions are as follows: Director of Recreational Teams/Divisions U4-U10, Director of Competitive Teams/Divisions U12-U19, and Director of Signature Teams/Division. WAYS BOD is hard at work planning and preparing for an exciting 2010 season, thank you again for your participation.

A Members Meeting has been called for Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 at 7PM at the Parnell Park Community Center, to vote on change(s) to the League By Laws, followed by a vote on any contested elected positions, and this will be followed by a regular BOD meeting (Resheduled due to the holiday).

There are to be NO practices scheduled before 6:00 p.m. at Hillview per the agreement with Hillview Middle School, East Whittier School District, Whittier Little League and the City of Whittier.

The fees for the spring season are due by Friday, Feb 5th. If your team fees aren't turned in on time you wil not be allowed to take a team.

We all love our dogs, but we have to leave them at home during practices and game days. Help us make sure that we keep our fields and please leave your dog at home.
You will be asked to leave the field if you have your pet with you.
