Waterford Youth Baseball & Softball would like to announce an exciting new format for the upcoming 2010 Baseball & Softball season !!!
This season we will be participating in a brand-new league made-up of 6 Southeastern Wisconsin Communities. The communities involved are Waterford, East Troy, Elkhorn, Palmyra, Eagle & Whitewater. Delavan will also join the league in the girl's softball divisions.
The age divisions for both baseball & softball will be the same as they have been in the past using the same birthdate of August 31, to determine which league your child(ren) will participate in. Unlike the past couple of years, our Sr. Girls division of 13 & 14 year-old girls will play this year in this new league, rather than in the Racine County League.
There will also be a girls softball program for High School girls (who have completed their Freshmen, Sophmore or Junior year) that will begin in June after school is out, and end in July sometime.
Dates for the season will be very similar to what we have had in the past. Registration will happen in February, with practice beginning in mid-April (weather permitting). The season will run from the week of May 24 until the week of July 12, with a season-ending Tournament on July 15 - 18.
We are very excited about this new opportunity to compete with more teams in each age group. All of the communities participating in this league have recreational baseball & softball programs very similar to what we have here in Waterford and have competed with in East Troy over the last several years. All of these communities also follow a policy of team reorganization each season, so that teams remain more equal and competitive.
Both T-ball and Bantam Baseball will remain unchanged from last year. T-Ball is open to boys & girls ages 6 & 7, and Bantam Baseball is open to boys & girls ages 7 & 8. All T-Ball and Bantam League games are played in Waterford with other Waterford teams.
We will have exact dates for registration picked very shortly and flyers should come home with your children from school when that happens. Check back here for updates as well. Thank You for all of your support of the Waterford Youth Baseball & Softball program over the years. We hope you are as excited as we are for the upcoming season !!!!
