BASIC PASSING- WARM UP

Start with players 2-3 yards apart passing the ball with just a flick of the wrist. Alternate back and forth using both hands (remember: only one hand on the ball at a time!). Gradually players will move farther apart and start using more arm strength in their passing. Try to keep using both hands as long as skill level allows. Make sure that shoulders are above the water at all times. For more experienced players both hands may be kept above the water while passing. Eventually players will be warmed up enough to be 6-8 meters apart and just pass with their strong hand. A simple warm-up drill, basic passing should be used at the beginning of practice. Players should alternate throwing and catching with both hands, avoiding riding a dominant side.
