RELEASING

There is one player at 2 meters and another player at the 2 position. The sound of the whistle signifies a turn over as in a game and the player at the 2 becomes the releasor swimming down the pool. The player at 2 meters is the open player swimming down the middle of the pool. The player at the 2 position releases about halfway down the pool and receives a pass from the goalie. The releasor then evaluates the position of the open man and makes the pass accordingly. If the open man has lots of time and is farther away from the goal, then the pass should be wet. If the open man is close to the goal or is almost covered by defenders, then they should be popping up ready to receive a dry pass. Early=wet, late=dry.
A defender should eventually be added to the release and a trailer should follow the open man in the middle. More and more positions can also be added as skill level permits
