My Open letter to Derrick Caracter.
What is going on DC. You know who this is, Terence, T-Bone and I have some things I have to talk to you about. First off, I want to let you know that I am riding with you big fella. I know sometimes you just want to quit and say forget the world but let me tell you man, it happens to the best. I know you have been feeling the wrath from Internet sites, Newspapers and all of these so called experts on how your game is going down, you seem lost and not motivated. But remember this, when things seem down, that is when you find out the truth about people. Remember about 2 years ago, these same people that are doing these stories and talking behind your back, they are the same people trying to get into your circle. I don't think they understand that they are the ones that put you on the pedestal. You and I both know your work ethic needs to be straightened out, but everyone goes through adolescent. The first medicine with that is to admit to your own wrong doing and move forward. After you have done that, What I want you to do man is stand still for a moment. When you have done all that you can do, stand still. When all seems not fair or when it seems like the world is caving in around you, stand still. Let the word and the holy trinity get involved. Now that you know where your friends and enemies lie, you can refocus and move forward. I know you will be fine, God did not bless you with your abilities only to have them become ineffective. You have not been blessed with family that care about your well being for you to fail. Now that you know you have more people wishing failure on you more than hope, you can get it done!

You have to excuse me if you think i'm writing too much information on Mike Gordon, but this is a kid i've known since he was 8 years old, and had the honor of coaching the past 4 years during travel basketball. I guess all that traveling and yelling at Mike has finally paid off.
Mike Gordon may be the first player ever in Plainfield HS history to be named All-State!! Were checking the record books now...
