Another shake up on the Career List
Already atop the All-Time wins list Ben Willeford continues to add to his extraordinary total. His win total stands at 186 with 141 of those victories coming by way of pin. That is a total that may never be broken at St. Michael High School.
Landon Carr moved into 2nd place on the wins list with 133 victories. That surpasses both Josh Fontenot(124) and Marshall Leavoy(131). On the pins side he moves up to #3 with 94 pins. He is just 2 short of catching Marshall Leavoy for #2.
Chase Dunlap continues his march up the Career List. He just passed Brock Labouliere (88) to take the #8 spot on the Wins list with 94. He moved into a tie with #7 Coach Tommy Sloan with 71 pins.
There is a new addition to the Career wins and pins list. Junior Brock Portier broke into both lists with 83 wins and 62 pins that is good for #10 and #8 on the Wins and Pins lists, respectively.
5 other wrestlers moved into the top 20 on the Career Wins list. They are #13 Miles Greenblatt, #15 Tres' Gravois, #17 Seth Barker, #19 Stephen Scardina, and #20Michael Borne. Congratulations to all of these Warriors.
Ben Willeford All-American
Senior Ben Willeford returned from the ASICS/Vaughan Junior & Cadet National Championships as an All-American. In the Greco-Roman part of the event Ben wrestled his way to a fifth place finish. In the fifth place match he defeated highly regarded Tanner Moon (Alabama). After losing the first period 0-7. Ben worked hard in the second period to gain a 3-1 win. Tied 1-1 going into the third period Ben dug deep. He scored late in the period to secure a 5-1 decsion for the period and secured All-American status. He was the only All-American from the state of Louisiana this season. Everyone, associated with the Warrior Wrestling Program, is proud of Ben's accomplishments. I will be trying to post the video soon.
