Provdence's Batts 17 not enough to overtake Pitt

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The men's basketball team was defeated by Pittsburgh, 68-64, on Tuesday, January 22, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

Pittsburgh was able to keep junior Bryce Cotton (Tucson, Ariz.), the BIG EAST's leading scorer, off the scoreboard until there were seven minutes left in the first half. However, during the last seven minutes of the half, Cotton was the only Friar to score and ended the half with 13 points.

Junior Kadeem Batts (Powder Springs, Ga.) led the Friars by recorded 17 points and nine rebounds, while senior Vincent Council (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with 11 points.
