Boston Warriors 17U Elite go undefeated in the NE Super Regional - Qualify for 17U Nationals
Led by Akeem Williams and Mike Campbell the Boston Warriors went 5-0 in the New England Super Regional Championships. Due to health reasons caused by playing 3 games in less than 6 hours with 8 players, the team decided against playing in the finals. Therefore the team went undefeated and received the gold medal. Win the silver medal finish, we qualified for both the 17U AAU National Championship as well as the 17U Super Showcase. Both events will be held in Orlando, Florida in July.
This was a total team effort for the weekend.
1. Akeem Williams led the team with scoring averaging over 35 points per game for the tournament including 45 points in the semifinal win over CMBC.
2. Mike Campbell was a close second averaging 24+ points per game.
3. Peter Lynch was dominant undernearth throughout the tournament. Peter had 20+ scroing games versus both NE Select and the NH Sharpshooters.
4. Anthony Paolillo, Mike Ennis & Viondy Merima stepped defensively throughout the tournament. Viondy came in and was the differnce in the win over BSM. Anthony had a huge defensive effort versus CMBC and Mike was immense on the defensive end all tournament
5. Henry Vargas, Brendan Farley and Kyle Curry contributed on both ends of the floor. Henry was huge in the semifinal win on both the defensive end and hitting some huge shots. Brendan and Kyle were true team players getting after it on the defensive end and making timely shots.
6. Sophomore Marcus Papas, Nick Holmes and John Bullitt provided support when needed. Marcus had a major contribution on both ends in the BSM win.
