Boston Warrior AAU Boy's Basketball: Warrior News: Warriors go to the Nationals in Orlando

Warriors go to the Nationals in Orlando

Boston Herald - Sunday, July 16th, 2006

A few weeks back, we spotlighted the BABC, Bay State Magic and Middlesex Magic in their summer sojourns through the AAU circuit. Another local product to keep an eye on is the WBA Warriors. They will be sending four teams to national events over the next month.

*17-and-Under Nationals in Orlando: This team has a distinctive Middlesex League flavor with Thomas Henneberry, Sean Sullivan, Ross Curley, Matt Cuhna and Mike Andryauskas from Lexington as well as Josh Levin-Scherz and Phil Barera from Belmont.

*15-and-Under: This team will attend the Super Showcase in Virginia Beach. Some of the top players on this team include Benyam Kerman (Watertown), Tron Griffith (Charlestown), Akeem Williams (Avon), Hanell Velez (Woburn), Drew Donnelly (Medfield), Evan Smotrycz (Reading) and Kadeem Batts (Lincoln-Sudbury).

*14-and-Under Nationals in Orlando: The Warriors qualified two groups for this field. Included in these groups is Prentis Douglas (Brockton), Drew Levey (Brookline), Rodman Noel and Ricky Thurin (Everett), Trey St. Cyere (Framingham) and Marcus Papas (Belmont).
