How much does it cost to sign-up?
- The 2008 registration fees are $100 per player for tackle football and cheerleading and $70 per player for flag football. There is also a $20 per family concession charge. The family maximum for registration is $270 (which includes the concession fee). Note: There is an additional $25 per child late fee for registrations after July 31, 2008.
What is your refund policy?
- No refunds will be given after August 1st unless reviewed and approved by the Executive Board, and then only in the case of moving out of boundaries, school failure, or medical reasons.
Does the registration fee cover fundraising?
- No. Each family is expected to raise an additional $100 through fundraising. Each family will be given detailed information based on their selections.
- In 2008 you have the option of a buyout for $100 or choosing from several fundraising programs to raise the funds. These are:
- selling local and national discount cards
- selling boxes of candy
- selling spirit cups.
What paperwork do I need to provide?
- Completed Registration form
- Physical Fitness Form (completed by parent)
- Physical Form (completed by physician and dated after January 1, 2008)
- Volunteer FormFundraising Form
- Original state issued birth certificate (NEW players only)
- Final year end June report card (must show final grades)
When does my child get their equipment?
- You will receive notification of equipment handouts. These are normally held at the end of July. All paperwork must be handed in before equipment will be issued.
What do I need to purchase for my child?
Football players will need to purchase:
- Cleats
- Jockstrap and cup (MANDATORY)
- Girdle (available for purchase from WSYF)
- Practice pants (available for purchase from WSYF)
- Practice jersey (available for purchase from WSYF)
- Game socks (purchase from WSYF)
Cheerleaders will need to purchase (from our supplier) Equipment fittings are June 24th.
- Sneakers
- Socks
- Body suit
- Briefs (worn under uniforms)
When is practice?

The 2008 season begins on Friday, August 1. Practices will be held Monday-Friday [for the month of August] from 6:00-8:00 PM at Veterans Memorial Field (Kickemuit Middle School) in Warren. Note: Your child must have all required paperwork in to take the field.

Starting September 1, practices will be held 3 nights a week (to be determined) from 6:00-8:00 PM.

In late September the cheerleaders will move to indoor locations. Normally the indoor location is in the gym at the Warren Community Center, as that is where we store our mats.

Your child should show up for all practices, regardless of the weather, unless they receive a call or email from the coach canceling They will be practices and games held in both rain and snow.
What is your attendance policy?
- 3 unexcused absences may lead to removal from a team. Please remember that both football and cheerleading are team sports.
- It is your responsibility to notify the coach in advance if a child must miss a practice.
- Please check with your child’s head coach regarding their expectations and discipline policy.
What if our family has a vacation planned?
- You must notify your child’s head coach in advance.
- Vacations taken during the season may result in reduced or no playing time in a game due to league rules and regulations.
- Please discuss this with your child’s head coach.
When are the games?
- The first game of the season will be August 31, 2008. Regular season games will be played each weekend until the end of October.
- Home games will be played on Saturday and most of the away games will be played on Sundays. We play one game on the weekend.
- Post season play begins immediately after the regular season and can continue until the first week of December.
Where are the games?
- Home games are played at Veterans Memorial Field
- Away games are played in both Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts
- RISMA Playoff games are held in both Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts
- Regional Playoff games are held in RI, MA, NH, and CT
- Superbowl is held December 7-13, 2008 at Disney in Orlando, FL
When do the cheer competitions take place?
- Cheer competitions begin (dates are being set for local competitions)
- Regional qualifier is November 2, 2008 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA
- Regional competition is November 28/29, 2008 in Worchester, MA
- National competition is December 7-13, 2008 at Disney in Orlando, FL
Does my registration fee cover travel expenses?
- No. Each participant is responsible for any travel costs.
- Additional fundraising will be offered to playoff teams to help defray the additional expenses. Details will be provided as necessary.
How can I volunteer to help?
Each family is required to volunteer two hours of their time during the season.
