2007 Indoor Season - U14 Boys Win Championship

In indoor action, the 6 Walton Junior teams completed the indoor season at the East Marietta YMCA. 3 boys teams and 3 girls teams competed during the winter season. On the boy’s side, the U-14 Walton “Italy” team, coached by Walton J.V. coach Ken Blankenship and Mike Fuller, finished in first place, winning all 6 of their games and scoring 91 goals in 6 matches.  The u-14 “Spain” team, coached by Dean Morris, finished 4th, with a 2 and 4 record.  Morris commented, “Good season, enjoyed it, and will look to bring another team back next winter.”

The u-12 boys team, coached by Patrick Curry, finished in 2nd place behind a strong Santo’s Elite team. The season came down to the last game, and the loss to the Santo’s ended their season with a 5 win, 1 loss record. They outscored their opponents 45 to 15. Overall, a great showing for the Walton Boys.

WALTON JUNIOR SOCCER- A FIRST YEAR SUCCESS

The Walton Junior Raider Indoor Soccer league wrapped up it’s first season with a winter team camp held at Walton High School on January 20th. Over 50 players attended the mini-camp run by the boy’s varsity head coach Bucky Boozer and girl’s head coach Bruce Wade.  The players got a good workout and the coach’s got to see some of the incoming talent on future Walton championship teams.

All 3 of the girls teams competed in the u-14 bracket, although many of our players were younger girls. They got to see play against some great competition. The “Brazil” team, coached by Michael Burger, finished strong in 2nd place, with a 4-1 record. The “Sweden” and “Argentina” teams, coached by Dan Mason and Tony Consolo respectively, both played tough games with many u-12 players playing up in age.  They improved as the season progressed and had fun playing for Walton.
