Walnut Creek Little League: About Us

Walnut Creek Little League (WCLL) provides an exceptional Little League experience for a wide range of ages and skill levels.  It is currently the second largest Little League in the State of Iowa in terms of registered players. The league is run solely by volunteers and our volunteers are vital to ensure that the league is the best it can be.

We are a privately owned, operated, and maintained league with eight fields and 2 concession stands. We host recreational and tournament play throughout the season. The baseball fields are located on 156th Street/Boone Drive across from Eason Elementary School in the Waukee School District. Click here for directions to the fields.

The mission of WCLL is to strive to promote a safe, positive and enjoyable environment focused on sportsmanship, respect for self as well as others and a sense of community that will cultivate an appreciation for the game, encourage teamwork, build character and inspire all who participate to be their best!

WCLL also encourages all adult participants, including parents, coaches, managers, and umpires to model positive behavior on and off the field that promotes sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork.

This League exists for the benefit and enjoyment of our children. Little League Baseball is founded on the premise that we build exceptional citizens, not just exceptional athletes.

The boundaries of WCLL Baseball are roughly from Hickman Road on the North, 70th Street in Des Moines on the East, University Avenue or the Freeway on the South, and Waukee School District boundaries on the West. Most West Des Moines residents living West of Valley West Drive are also welcome, as there is no Little League chartered program in West Des Moines at this time. All areas in the Waukee School District boundaries are included in our boundaries where questions arise.  Check our homepage for a link to a current map.

WCLL only offers online registration. There are no mail-in or walk-in registrations.  Note that registration for softball is handled through the Waukee Parks and Recreation Department.
