Conference Games and Upcoming Events

Good Afternoon Players and Parents:

 State of the Kingdom
It's a great day to be a Knight

We have reached the Conference portion of our season. For those that are new to our program, we play 10 division games against WL Western, WL Central, Lakeland, Kettering and Mott. We play each opponent at home and on the road. The only transportation we will receive over the next 10 games will be going to Waterford Mott and Waterford Kettering. There is also a new format this year for in district (vrs. WL Western and WL Central) games. On 1/11, 1/21, 2/1 and 2/11 the Freshman and JV will play on a different day than the varsity with the Freshman game starting at 5:30 and JV game starting at 7 PM. On the following days 1/12, 1/22, 2/2 and 2/12 the varsity will play at 7:30 following the girls Varsity game which starts at 6.

Our program has some very exciting events taking place at upcoming home games. At the 1/12 game against WL Western, our administration has bought poms to hand out to the student section. At the 1/22 game against WL Central we will host a white out game, with the first 50 students getting a white out T shirt. Additional shirts will be sold at the 1/19 home game and the night of the white out for $5 and all t-shirt proceeds and Central game 50/50 will be donated to THAW (the heat and warmth fund of Michigan). What a great event and I am very proud to be a Knight... Thank you to the booster board for putting this together. Senior night will be on 2/5 and I look forward to celebrating these great seniors.

On the fundraising side of things, we are still missing some car wash envelopes from a couple of Varsity guys only and we need them turned in ASAP. Our program paid for those books up front and they all need to be accounted for. There is also a fundraiser on 1/20 at Benstein Grill, they are a new business in the area that has sponsored us this year and will donate back 10% of all the bills of anyone that says they are there for WLN Basketball. We are also hosting our Free Throw athon on 2/13, more details will follow.

We are at about the midway point of our season and I am very pleased with the effort and development of the guys on and off the court. We will continue to work hard and compete and I look forward to a strong finish to the season at all 3 levels. I would like to thank everyone for getting this season off to a strong start on all fronts. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone at all of our upcoming events.
