Welcome to Jennifer Averill's Field Hockey Camp at Wake Forest University


Dear Campers,



Welcome to Wake Forest Field Hockey Camp. The mission of our camp is to ensure that all participants receive a premier experience based on a creative curriculum and an energetic and knowledgeable staff, while playing on a world class artificial playing surface. Campers will be exposed to the most recent coaching trends, styles and strategies. We have an outstanding staff that includes the Wake Forest University Hockey coaches, as well as other college coaches and elite players.



If you have passion for this sport, I encourage you to take full advantage of all we have to offer. I look forward to meeting you and watching you develop into the athlete you dream of becoming. See you this summer.

Training Sessions: Camp training sessions are held at the Kentner Stadium on the Wake Forest campus, as well as adjacent fields. The Kentner Stadium field is a new state-of-the-art artificial turf. The turf is highly regarded as one of the safest and best surface for field hockey play. Campers will also play on field turf and natural grass. Turf shoes are recommended, but not required.



Housing: Campers are housed in the air-conditioned dormitories of Wake Forest University, located next to the stadium. Rooms are typically suited for 2 individuals and include a shared bathroom.   Arrangements can be made in advance for campers wishing to room together. Please note roommate on application form.   No key deposit is required at check-in. If you lose your key you will be charged $75.00.



Dining: Meals are served in the newly renovated campus food marketplace. The marketplace features fresh ingredients. There is a large selection of foods from a salad bar, deli section, pasta and many other food stations. Most all dietary needs and preferences can be accommodated.




Check-In: On the first day of camp please arrive between 11 am - 1 pm to check-in to your campus residence hall. Signs on campus will direct you to the check-in location. The first instructional session begins promptly at 1:30 p.m. Lunch service is not included on day of check-in. Lunch is available at several locations on or near the campus.



Check-Out: Camp will conclude on the final day at noon. Please pick up campers between noon and 1pm at their assigned residence hall.



Ground Transportation from the Greensboro airport: If you will be arriving by air to camp and require grounds transportation, please make arrangements with the following recommended vendor: PTI Airport Transportation 1-877-796-5466. Shuttles leave for Winston-Salem every hour on the hour and private taxi service is available. Reservations required for both types. At time of reservation, mention you are with the Wake Forest Field Hockey Camp for a 10% discount. The travel time from the airport to campus is approximately 35 minutes.



Supervision: Campers are supervised 24 hours a day. Campers are supervised by counselors who are current and past Wake Forest field hockey players. Counselors are selected for their maturity, responsibility and enthusiasm. Counselors attend meals, training sessions, and sleep in the dormitory. Counselors assist campers in having a safe, rewarding and fun experience.
