Summer Long Volleyball Enrichment Program
Dear CAVC Club Members,
I have acquired gym space for the months of June, July, and August in order to create a summer long volleyball enrichment program. My goal is to form teams which practice on a consistent basis in order to augment the players mental, physical, and emotional volleyball skills (individual and team-based). I am looking to put together practice teams between 10 to 12 players in order to keep the fees for the volleyball enrichment program lower and size more manageable; though, am open to adding more if the commitment and interest is there. The teams will practice at Boars Head once a week. Because I would like two practices a week per team, I am going to also try and establish additional practices on the weekend for opportunities to play outdoor volleyball (weather permitting)(sand and grass) and appropriate conditioning.
In regards to establishing teams, I would like to open this summer long opportunity to CAVC age groups 13s and up; however, it is also open to those that were not apart of CAVC this season. Tryouts will be held if it is deemed necessary. The cost per player will be $360 for the entire three months. The majority of the fees will be to cover renting the gym space, my gas expenses, and my service/time. Currently the Monday practice slot from 6:30 - 9pm will be used for the 13/14 age range.
My hope is that this summer enrichment program will saturate the players with engaging perspectives and improve their well-roundedness in the sport. My philosophy is that everything connects, who you are as a person (actions and thoughts) determines what caliber of volleyball player you will be; it is the attention and consistency to the little details from start to finish that truly matter. As a team we will learn the value of focusing on the process of pursuing excellence and that benefits of discipline in conjunction with fun. I will be emphasizing more than just individual and team related fundamentals, but also understanding and cloak & dagger skills. I will push the development of thinking on the court and to learn to analyze and adjust one's own volleyball performance. Good character traits will be an integral part of the learning process though they may not always be directly presented.
If interested in participating in this summer-long volleyball enrichment program please notify me via email as soon as possible; first come first serve unless there is an overwhelming flux of interest which would merit tryouts. The following information is requested: Parents' names, Player's name, Player's age, Player's experience, (13s/14s are taking the Monday practice slot) for other age groups please state which day works better Wed. or Sat. (keeping in mind Saturday has a better chance of working with my schedule), Contact information, any vacation plans which may interfere with attendance. Based on the amount of interest/commitment in regards to age brackets I will respond with the team lineups. If for some reason I cannot work someone into a team I would be willing to pursue other instructional options (see private lessons below).
Best,

p.s. I am also open to scheduling private sessions. They would be on the weekend and be conducted either on a sand/grass court. The cost is $25 per hour.
Robert coached the 14's team this season and was assistant coach on our 18's team in 2006.
