VSLL Baseball Majors Yankees win the District 2 County Tournament!!
Congratulations to the Majors Yankees on their District 2 County Tournament win!!

"This was an extremely grueling tournament for our team because we had to play 8 games in 8 days and made it 9 days to finish the championship game. To go 11-0 is a great accomplishment by our team because the competition was extremely tough this year. As a coach, I have been fortunate to be part of Little League State Championship 9/10 team, AAU/USSSA tournament championships and local Cocoa Expo championships. But I have never had to win 11 games to win one tournament. Great job by our players staying focused and wanting to finish strong. And to my assistant coaches Chris Hintz and Mike McLoughlin who did a great job helping me get the most out of these players. The reward for that is we have 7 players that made VSLL all-star teams...3 on the 12's; 2 on the 11's and 2 on 9/10's. Job well done and total team effort."

First Annual Florida Challenger Jamboree
The Jamboree consisted of 25 teams from all over
the state. Clearwater LL did a great job with the organization of the
event and the execution. Our players had a great time along with coaches Dave Zavetz, Charlie Crawford and Michelle Zavetz.

Challenger Division
The Challenger division began play in Spring 2007, with great success, and continues in 2008. Little League's Challenger division is designed for players ages 5-18 with mental and/or physical disabilities. During Challenger games, all players are matched up with a "buddy" that helps them around the field and offers them support. Players from our Majors divisions (baseball and softball) will be scheduled to act as buddies during Challenger games. This is a great opportunity for all involved. Kevin was selected as the 2008 Little League Good Sport of the Year recipient by Little League International in Williamsport, PA. Kevin was chosen over every other candidate from every other Little League ... not only in our District, or our State, or our country, but in the world!!!
Way to go Kevin. You have made all of us in VSLL proud!

9/10 Softball - Second Consecutive State Championship!
9/10 Softball finished pool play in the State tournament with a 3-0 record, advanced and won in the semi-finals on Sunday and on Monday won VSLL's second consecutive 9/10 Softball Florida State Championship.

9-10, Majors and Juniors Softball brought home Section 2 titles! Juniors Baseball will compete in sectionals on Saturday, July 19th.
