Viera/Suntree Little League: Welcome

We will be holding 2 "In Person" spring season registrations.

Saturday December 5th and Saturday December 12th

Viera Regional Community Center

9:30am - 12:00pm

Registration for our Spring season is now open. Here are some of the details:

• Mandatory Skill Assessments will take place in the middle of January. (Minors Division through Seniors Division.)
• Practices will begin the first week of February.
• Games will begin the first week of March.
• Teams will have 1-2 practices each week, along with 1-2 games each week as the season begins.
• We will accept players for our 4 year old Tball division to our Seniors baseball and softball divisions. (Ages 15-16).
• The little league age cutoff date for baseball is 4/30/2010. The cutoff date for softball is 12/31/2009. These dates determine your child’s little league age.
• Please check website for additional details.

Managers – Please indicate on the registration, and reply to this e-mail if you would like to manage a team this Spring.

4 year old Tball – Any child who will turn 4 years old by 4/30/2010 is eligible to play Tball this Spring.

Challenger Division - We will have our Challenger division for physically challenged players.

Umpires – We are always looking for people who would like to umpire. (Including Junior umpires.) If interested, please contact Dave or Liz Head at strikeforce@cfl.rr.com.

Registrations will be processed in 3 different phases. VSLL will again be offering an early registration discount for the month of November. Regular registration will take place in December and our traditional pricing will be in effect. Registration officially closes on January 1st. 2010. VSLL will offer a late registration for the first 2 weeks of January. A late registration fee of $20.00 per player will apply at that time.

Player’s Fees for the Spring Season are as follows:

If your child is league age 6-11, and you wish to participate in our Minors baseball division, please read the following carefully as a few changes will be implemented in 2010. VSLL will be introducing a new division in Minors this Spring. Instead of our traditional choices of machine pitch and kid pitch, we will be splitting Minors into A, AA and AAA divisions. Level A will be machine pitch. (Recommended ages are 6-7.) AA will be a combination of machine/coach/kid pitch. (An introductory level of kid pitch. Recommended ages are 8-9.) AAA will be the highest level of kid pitch. This will be the level just below the Majors division. (Recommended ages are 9-11.) During registration, you will be asked to choose a level for your child. This is a request only. Final placement in Minors will be determined by the number of participants in the division and skill assessments, which are mandatory. All 6 year olds who wish to play in the Minors, will be placed in Level A, Machine pitch. There will be no changes in Minors Softball.

Congratulations 10/11 D2 VSLL Champs!!

Congratulations VSLL Juniors on 2009 D2 win!!

Congratulations to VSLL 9/10 Softball who won VSLL's 4th consecutive D2 title.

They came out of the loser's bracket, forced the "if" game and won it 12-2 in 4 innings.

Congratulations to the Majors Yankees on their District 2 County Tournament win!!

"This was an extremely grueling tournament for our team because we had to play 8 games in 8 days and made it 9 days to finish the championship game. To go 11-0 is a great accomplishment by our team because the competition was extremely tough this year. As a coach, I have been fortunate to be part of Little League State Championship 9/10 team, AAU/USSSA tournament championships and local Cocoa Expo championships. But I have never had to win 11 games to win one tournament. Great job by our players staying focused and wanting to finish strong. And to my assistant coaches Chris Hintz and Mike McLoughlin who did a great job helping me get the most out of these players. The reward for that is we have 7 players that made VSLL all-star teams...3 on the 12's; 2 on the 11's and 2 on 9/10's. Job well done and total team effort."
