Von Steuben was victorious over Roosevelt in both the varsity and sophomore games in the Albany Park Neighborhood Showdown at North Park University.

The Von freshman team also won a close game against Whitney Young earlier in the day.

In their first basketball meeting since the late 90s, Von Steuben and Roosevelt met at North Park University on November 22.

The Legends from both programs were in attendance!

On Saturday, Te'Andre Dailey, Demetrius Falkner, Paris Garrett, Deqwon Horn, Devin Johns, Ohaaji Scott, and Justin Wilson participated in The Showcase Game to benefit needy children.

This year’s proceeds will benefit the JG Foundation, to help those in need. In the past, the JG Foundation has donated money to Visions For Tomorrow Foundation, National Children’s Cancer Society, Make A Wish Foundation, Brain Tumor, Red Cross, Keshet-Special Disabilities, Salvation Army, New York Fire Department Widows Fund, Star Light Foundation and the Rory Deutsch Foundation. We will have a raffle that will include items from the Bulls, Nike gear and shoes, local restaurant and businesses gift certificates, JG Gear and uniforms and college gear. All weekend we will sell clothing items, Pepsi drinks and water and other goodies to help this year’s benefit. 

The team of Joseph Rencher, Demetrius Faulkner, adn Te'Andre Dailey defeated the team of Johnathan Courtney, Alex Myers, and Demitrius Raspberry in overtime!  Great competition!!!

In the Fr/So Division, the team of Eric Smith, Justin Wilson, and Wojtek Konopnicki defeated the team of Anthony Hudson, Junior Salau, and DeAndre Tolson.  Congratulations.

Von Steuben High School should sound familiar to Mott basketball fans: it's the same school that produced former Mott player Jeremie Simmons, a two-time national title winner and National Player of the Year while at Mott.

Jamal Dantzler, a strong guard, comes to Mott highly recommended by his high school coach.
