WHY YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CALL FOR THE BALL

Do you know why you should always call for the ball during a volleyball match? You probably think it's a pretty silly question! You call for the ball to let everyone else know it's yours, right?
But that's only part of the reason. After all, most of the time, it's completely obvious which player should be passing the ball. If the ball comes to you, it's yours.
No, there's a more fundamental, important reason to call for every ball. It's to signal your teammates that you are alert and in the game. These signals are critical in a sport where six players must think with one mind. These six people must react instantly and in unison every time someone touches the ball. If just one of the players is not alert, the unit falls apart. So every time you call for the ball, you are strengthening the team by sending a very important message that you are there and ready.
Think for a moment. Did you ever see a championship team that was quiet on the court? Probably not. Instead, the best teams are always talking.
So if you want to help your team succeed, call for the ball. It will make a difference.
