Vista National Little League: Welcome

As many who follow sports can attest to, winning championships in back to back years is a large undertaking but the 10/11YOs were up to the challenge.  The 11's had to have went into the tournament with a big target on their backs being the District 70 9/10YO AllStar Champions just a year ago, but they were able to show District that they knew how to play baseball.  The championship game was rematch of the first game the 11's played with RBVLL seeking revenge.  It was definitely a hard fought battle that was won by a strong group of players that put their hearts out on the field. This team took the tournament by truly working as a team, everyone hit, everyone played good defense, and the pitching held up throughout, what an effort.

It was great to see our VNLL players, coaches, parents, and board members out there showing everyone that we are behind our teams.  

The action continues this Saturday, July 18th @ 4:00 at Oceanside American Little League (222 Brooks St, Oceanside, CA).

Please come show your support and VNLL pride by coming to cheer on our 2009 VNLL AllStars during the District 70 tournament at Oceanside American (222 Brooks St, Oceanside, CA).  All of the players have shown that they are up for the challenge, so now let's show them that you are up to the challenge!

It is not too late to signup for our Winterball Season.  It is a great time to get new players in to tryout Little League and a great opportunity for the returning players to keep the skills sharp.

Additional dates we will be having a couple of signup dates throughout July, please check back for those dates.

Help us celebrate the efforts of our Little Leaguers! Please note that VNLL SPRING 2009 CLOSING CEREMONIES will be on Friday, June 12th @ 6pm sharp at our VNLL Fields. Please have the players arrive in their uniform for the festivities!

Carne Asada Plates will be available from 5:00pm - 5:45pm for only $5.00 per  plate which will include two tacos, beans, and rice. Drinks will be available for purchase as well.

An exciting Spring Season is wrapping up and now it is time for WINTERBALL signups!!!  We will be accepting registration forms this week (until 5/23) at the VNLL fields.  Let’s keep the enthusiasm from this season going!!!  Winterball generally consists of one practice and one game per week so it is a great opportunity to hone those skills.  Games start right after Labor Day and run through the weekend before Thanksgiving.

$75.00 registration fee and $50.00 ($75.00 Multi Child) Snackbar deposit (refundable when snackbar duties are fulfilled) due in two separate checks at time of signup.

The last games of the second half will be played tonight but the second half standings are in.  All teams played hard in the second half here are the results:

Please note that the Astros and Pirates tied with the standings but the Astros had a better head-to-head record thus took second place for the 1st half.

It was a great first half of the season.  All of the teams have played great.  Remember that the second half starts things over again and anyone of our teams have a good shot at winning the second half.  Good luck to all the teams.

* - there is a game that was suspended while being tied.  Final outcome of that game may have an effect on the 4th and 5th place teams.

Reminder that all school fields are closed from Mar 30th until April 12th.  Beaumont will also be closed Saturday April 18th.  The VNLL facility will be closed from April 5th until the 12th.  No teams are authorized to practice at any of the Schools or at the VNLL fields on the aforementioned dates.

VNLL has completed the Major and Minor A drafts and practices for these divisions only have begun.  The other divisions will be hearing from managers within the next week or two, please be patient we definitely have not forgotten about you. 

We have the Safety/Manager meeting this Saturday at the field from 9-12 for all divisions.

We are still accepting registrations.  We will accept registrations this from 10 -12 this Saturday during the safety/manager meeting.  So if you have missed any of the other signup dates please try and make it down to the fields this Saturday.

TRYOUTS: Did you miss our last official sign up? You are still in luck, sign them up at Tryouts! We will be holding tryouts for players league age 9-12 on the 23rd from 5-6 at VNLL.

We are accepting late sign ups during our tryouts. If your player is age 9-12, please come to the field prepared to tryout. They will need to be in pants they can run in, cleats or sneakers, and have a glove.

Costs:   Major and Minor Divisions - $120 
             Rookie - $90 
             T-Ball - $70 

Snack Bar Deposit - $100.00/child or $125/family ($100/child or $125/family buy out.) 

Fundraiser Deposit - $50/child or $75/family ($50/child or $75/family buy out.) 

Multiple child discounts for registration donations is as follows:
$10.00 off the 2nd child.
$20.00 off each additional child.

Please remember a copy of players Birth Certificate and proof of residency (3 forms).
