Date: Dec 15, 2007 --> Dec 16, 2007
The 15's were playing at Mistlin Park in Ripon. After going up on BMP 3-0, we managed to allow them to come back and tie the game up 3-3 after 7 innings. Ray Baca threw 6 very solid innings. We followed that by a not so impressive outing against the Hard 90......................Show. In typical Lightning fashion we went 0-1-1 in pool play on Saturday finishing the 4th seed. Sunday morning was substantially different. We opened against the P-Town Phillies and the 15's must have eaten the same breakfast as the young guys. Lightning came out pounding with Gonzales (Hanford West) leading the way with a couple of doubles and triples. Dalton Silva (Hanford High), Michael Galli, Ray Baca all added to the offensive charge. The game ended 7-1 behind a strong pitching performance by Gonzales. Next up was the Semi's vs. the Hard 90...........................Show for a rematch. This was a different game. The Lightning continued hitting the ball, as Silva took the mound and threw 5 effortless innings. We were victorious 11-2. The ship was against BMP. Silva again demanding the ball for the ship, took the mound. After playing to a 2-2, Lightning finally broke it open to win the championship 5-2.

Veteran's Classic
November 10-11
Now Moved to CSU Stanisluas Warrior Field in Turlock!!
The tournament went well this weekend. The boys got the opportunity to play at Cal State Stanislaus on Saturday and opened game one against Sooners Baseball from Galt. Ray Baca threw 7 innings in a 5-3 victory. Game #2 moved to Pedretti Park against Central United. We lost 6-5. Due to rain, we had to relocate Sunday to Mistlin Sports Park in Ripon and our 3rd pool play game was bumped up to 2:45. Temple took the mound and threw 4 2/3. as we beat the MuckDogs from Reno and beat them 13-4. Brager came in to close. With pool play complete we were the #2 seed and played the Elk Grove Rebels. Travis Beck threw 5 innings in relief for Zack Wright as we came back down 5-3 in the 6th to win 6-5. Waiting in the ship was CenCal who went 3-0 in pool play. This was a very good game, but Drew Gilbreath stole the show, as he stood up there and flipped curveballs at the big hitting Cen Cal team for 7 innings. We played great defense and executed well offensively. We won the game 6-4. This is the 2nd 16U tournament championship in a row. The only downside was after 3 in a row and the ship starting at 7:00 PM, we did not get home until after mid night. Thankfully the boys did not have school today.

We had a very good tournament however, we did come up short losing the Championship game to SV Yankees. We went 4-0 in pool play, finished #1 seed in our pool. We played the Upland Pirtates in the Quarter Final, we beat the America's Game Hornets 14-4 in the Semi, and played the SV Yankees in the ship. The boys continued the roll we were on from last weekend. We hit the ball well and had great outings on the mound. Stats and details will follow. The results can be viewed at the following website:
