History of the Virginia Beach Hawks
The Virginia Beach Hawks is a girlÂ’s fast pitch softball club formed in 1998. The club is a non-profit organization located in the city of Virginia Beach. We have players representing various areas of Hampton Roads, Virginia. Two Tournament teams will compete during the 2006-2007 season. The Virginia Beach Hawks 10U, and 14U girls fast pitch teams will become the foundation of our future showcase teams. We will showcase a 12u team in the fall of 2007.
VISION STATEMENT OF THE VIRGINIA BEACH HAWKS GIRLS FASTPITCH SOFTBALL ORGANIZATION
It is the vision of the Virginia Beach Hawks to develop a highly competitive fastpitch softball organization that provides its players with a strong and positive learning environment, which enables them to prosper and flourish in their sport. To fulfill our vision, the organization must be well managed, financially strong, goal oriented, highly regarded, and most of all supported by its dedicated members. We do not believe a child who has talent should be turned away from playing tournament softball for lack of funding ability. Therefore, we have a very low one time commitment fee and raise the majority of monies needed to fund tournaments, equipment, uniforms, bat bags, etc. through bingo, corporate sponsors, and various other fundraising activities.
GOALS AND PHILOSOPHIES
The philosophy our teams is one of hard work and dedication. This years 10U and 14U teams are the building block of the Hawks organization. Feeding the 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U teams as the players go on in years, with the goal of securing a college scholarship for each player. The coaching staffs are tasked with developing each player to a level of competence by which she will be able to be productive at the next level. Promote loyalty to the organization by creating a scholarship program to the girls who will attend college after being part of the program. Create a lasting softball legacy to the girls who play and to be available to their daughters in the future who might become players. Become an organization known for the development of players that understand the sport and understand the personal commitment that it takes to become successful. We envision programs in 5 major age categories (10, 12, 14, 16 and 18U)
