College Series, Averett University, and East Coast Wood Bat Championship Rules
$10 Weekend Pass at all Venues!
- Unless modified, play will be governed by USSSA Baseball By-Laws.
- Tight Schedules - please hustle on and off the fields.
- BATS - BBCOR Bats Only!
- Regulation Game - 14U-18U = 7 innings
- Time Limit - 1 hour 45 minute time limit. No new inning begins after 1 hour, 45 minutes.
- Tie Ball Games - Games MAY end in a tie in pool play
Home and Visitors - Home team is determined by coin toss in pool games; higher seed will be the home team in eliminiation round
Mercy Rule - 14U-18U:
- 12 runs after 3 innings (or 2 1/2 innings)
- 10 runs after 4 innings (or 3 1/2 innings)
- 8 runs after 5 innings (or 4 1/2 innings)
Pitching Limits - No Pitching Rules
Pregame Infield - NO pregame infield
Forfeits - all games must start with 9 players. A game can be finished with 8 players. The player's spot who left the game will be recorded as an "out" each time in the lineup. Any team who records a "forfeit" will be eliminated from the tournament.
Field Dimensions - 60' mound, 90' bases
Courtesy Runners - can be used at anytime for the pitcher/catcher. Must be someone NOT in the current lineup. If everyone is in the lineup, the last recorded "out" can be the runner.
EH and DH Allowed - extra hitters will be allowed. Teams must declare how many EH's at the beginning of the game. Re-entry rule applies for EH; all players can move freely in defensive positions. The starting pitcher is allowed to DH for himself. EH is considered the same as any position on the field as far as substitutions are concerned.
- Bat 9 - Re-entry rule applies
- Bat 10 - Re-entry rule applies
- Bat 9 or 10 with DH - Re-entry rule applies
- Bat entire lineup - free substitution
If batting entire lineup and an injury occurs, the injured player's spot in the lineup will be skipped without penalty. However, that player will not be allowed to finish the game. If a player is ejected, then that spot in the lineup will be counted as an "out".
Protests - Tournament Director has the final authority to settle all disputes.
Rain Policy - If rain affects a tournament, money will be refunded if:
- No games are played (entire tournament is rained out)--full refund
- 1 game played - $100 refunded (3-game guarantee tournaments); $150 refunded (4-game guarantee tournaments).
- 2 or more games played--no refunds.
It is the team's responsibility to be aware of schedule changes! Check the website frequently!
Sportsmanship - the field director or umpire may eject any person from the site for unruly or unsportsmanlike behavior; if the person is ejected a SECOND time during the tournament--he/she will not be allowed to return for the remainder of the tournament.

|Be ready to play your scheduled games early…be prepared to play at least ½ hour before your scheduled start time.|
9U-12U: 6 Innings
13U-14U: 7 Innings
9U-12U – 1 hour 45 minute time limit
13U-18U: 1 hour 45 minute time limit
If a game is tied when the time limit expires, the International Rule for Extra Innings described below applies to any new innings started after time expires. TIME LIMIT APPLIES TO CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES ALSO!
|**Extra Innings||The International Rule for Extra Innings is in effect. The rule applies as follows: to start an extra inning, the visiting team places the last batter to complete an at bat in the previous inning at second base. Play resumes until three outs are recorded. To complete the extra inning, the home team places the last batter to complete an at bat in the previous inning at second base. Play resumes until three outs are recorded or the home team takes the lead.|
|**Home and Visitors||Home team is determined by coin toss in pool games. Higher seed is home team in Championship Round.|
9U-12U: 6 inning games
15 runs after 3 innings (or 2 ½ innings)
8 runs after 4 innings (or 3 ½ innings)
13U-18U: 7 inning games
15 runs after 3 innings (or 2 ½ innings)
12 runs after 4 innings (or 3 ½ innings)
8 runs after 5 innings (or 4 ½ innings)
|**Pitching Limitations||Unlimited Pitching. Coaches protect the kids|
|**Courtesy Runners||Can be used at anytime for the pitcher and catcher. Must be someone NOT in the current lineup. If everyone is in the lineup, then the last recorded out can run.|
|**Official Scorer||The home team scorebook is the official scorebook. Visiting team scorekeeper should confirm score with the home team scorekeeper after each inning. Home team needs to report the score of the game to the field director|
|**Pregame Infield||NO pregame infield|
9U-10U: 46’ mound, 65’ bases
11U–12U: 50’ mound, 70’ bases
13U-18U: 60’ mound, 90’ bases (Leads, dropped third strike in effect)
|**EH Allowed||An Extra Hitter will be allowed. This will give a team a 10-player lineup that must be declared before the start of the game and used the remainder of the game. The player in the EH position will be treated as though they are for substitution purposes. The reentry rule applies for the EH. All players can move freely in defensive positions. The EH is considered a defensive position.|
**Bat 9 – Reentry rule applies
**Bat 10 with EH – Reentry rule applies
**Bat entire lineup – Free substitution

Please do not bring your animals to the ballfields...we love our dogs, too, but many people do not want them at the field and schools do not allow them to be on their grounds. Thank you!
