Coach Cerchie joined the Wildcat program in the spring of 1998 as the first manager of the junior varsity team. He came aboard with excellent credentials as a very successful coach in houseleague and all-stars with the LaSalle Turtle Club Little League.
Angelo's first year in 1998 was an unqualified success, as the first year team finished with a 15-5 record, good for third place in the Detroit Catholic League AA Division.
In 1999, everything came together for the Junior Wildcats, as they enjoyed a 14-6 record, and were declared co-champions of the division, tied with Riverview Gabriel Richard.
Coach Cerchie now moves up to the senior team in 2000 to assist Coach Dragich as the seniors attempt to defend their division title.
