VILLA MARIA GIRLS VARSITY - 2012: 2010 Games
LAKERS RUN OVER VICTORS 7-0
In a somewhat lop-sided game the Mercyhurst Lakers ran over the Villa Victors by a 7-0. The Lakers dominated in all aspects of the game. Scoring for the Lakers were Kaiser 2, Haverly, Costello, Elia, Alkerly and Stetson. Even in a game like this the play of certain people stand out - Both Nicole Shellenbarger and Maddy Reichel played an outstanding game. The Victors have their work cut out for them as they begin to prepare for the return match with the Lakers.
The JV's also lost to the Lakers by a 5-0 score.
Tuesday, September 14
VICTORS ROLL OVER BEAVERS
The Victors, playing their first game on Dollinger Field at the Prep Event Center, easily rolled over the Corry team by a 12-0 score. The Victors were up 8-0 at halftime and added another 4 in the second half. Scoring for the Victors were Kayley Jones 3, Abby Kenski 3, Kaitlyn Kissell 2, Courtney Edwards 2, Emily Carlin and Kimberly Maasz. Assisting on the goals were Emily Carlin 2, Kayley Jones 2, Maddy Reichel 2, Jillian Blaszczyk 2, Kelsey Weibel, Carly Imler, Paige Delavern, Alexis Monocello, Taylor Jones, Abby Kenski and Melissa Blenner. Shutout Goalies were Nicole Shellenbarger, Rebecca Sweny and Kathryn Strobel.
The JV's won aswell by a 2-0 score with both Kayla Schlosser and Eileen Burger. Kathryn Strobel was the shutout goalkeeper.
Monday, September 20
VICTORS STOP BULLDOGS 10-0
The Victor were home to the Meadville Bulldogs in its first of 5 crossover games with Region 7. In the first 5 minutes of play the Victors scored 3 times for a quick early lead. Kaitlyn Kissel scored twice and Emily Carlin once. Assisting on the 3 goals were Jillian Blaszczyk 2, Abby Kenski 2, Kissell and Courtney Edwards. Blaszczyk scored again with 19 minutes remaining for what proved to be the half time score 4-0. Kissell and Kenski assisted.
In the second half the Victors scored 4 goals in the first 10 minutes. Scoring were Kissell 2, Kenski, and Kayley Jones. Assisting on the goals were Carlin 2, Kenski 2, Edwards, Jones, Blaszczyk and Kissell. Carlin and Ann Neville scored for the Victors in the last 20 minutes of the game with Jones, Blaszczyk and Kenski assisting.
Shutout Goalkeepers were Nicole Shellenbarger and Rebecca Sweny.
Congratulations to Abby Kenski for setting a new Villa record for assists in a game with her 6 assists this evening.
The JV's also won 2-1 behind goals from Eileen Burger and Allie Trocki.
Monday, September 27
VILLA BLANKS FAIRVIEW
Villa traveled to Fairview to meet the Tigers in an independent game. Kayley Jones started the scoring for Villa when she netted a free kick at the 32 minute mark. At the 21 minute mark Kaitlyn Kissel scored off an assist from Jones. That assist by Jones tied a school record for career assists with 60 set by Amanda Lewis. The 2-0 score held till halftime. At the 31 minute mark Kissell scored again off an assist from Weibel and Edwards. Less than 30 seconds later Jones scored her second goal assisted by Kissell and Carlin. Kissell completed her hat trick when she beat the goalie off a feed from Abby Kenski. Nicole Shellenbarger and Rebecca Sweny shared the shutout in goal.
The JV's won 1-0 with a goal scored by Margaret Mascharka. Kathryn Strobel was the shutout goalie.
Tuesday, September 28
VILLA STOPS COLONELS 10-0
The Victors traveled to Veterans Stadium for an independent match against Strong Vincent. The Victors jumped out to a 6-0 half time lead and added another 4 goals in the second half for 10-0 final score. Kayley Jones had 4 goals with Kaitlyn Kissell and Emily Carlin each adding 2 apiece. Alexis Monocello scored on a penalty kick and Courtney Edwards added a lone goal. Assisting on the goals were Kissell and Carlin 3 each, Jones, Edwards and Melissa Blenner 2 each. Nicole Shellenbarger and Rebecca Sweny shared the shutout in goal.
The JV's tied SV 1-1 behind a goal from Allie Trocki.
With her two assists Kayley Jones set a new school record of 62 career assists.
