VILLA DOWN HORNETS 2-1

THE VICTORS TRAVELED TO THE HICKORY HORNETS' HIVE FOR AN INDEPENDENT MATCH.  WITH 2/3 RD'S OF THE VILLA STARTING DEFENSE HOME SICK WITH THE FLU THE VICTORS HAD TO MAKE SOME MAJOR REVISIONS TO THEIR LINEUP.  VILLA SCORED FIRST WHEN HILLARY HOFFMAN SLOTTED A BALL FROM KAYLEY JONES AND KAITLYN KISSELL.  FIVE MINUTES LATER ALLISON RICHARDS KNOTTED THE SCORE FOR HICKORY.  JILLIAN BLASZCZYK PUT THE VICTORS AHEAD FOR GOOD WHEN SHE SCORED WITH 19 MINUTES LEFT IN THE GAME.  JONES AND AMANDA LEWIS ASSISTED ON THE GOAL.

WITH THE DEFENSE DEPLETED EMILY CARLIN, KIM MAASZ, ALEX BUCZYNSKI AND ALEXIS MONOCELLO STEPPED UP WITH THE GOALKEEPER NICOLE SHELLENBARGER AND PROVIDED SOLID DEFENSE AGAINST THE RUN AND SHOOT HORNETS. 

THE JV'S WERE SUCCESSFUL WITH A 3-1 WIN.  PAIGE DELAVERN, CARLY IMLER AND MISSY BLENNER SCORED FOR THE VICTORS WITH ASSISTS FROM SOPHIA UQUILLAS AND MADDY REICHEL.

VILLA OVER GIRARD 4-0

VILLA TRAVELED TO GIRARD FOR THEIR FIRST MATCHUP OF THE SEASON.  AS USUAL THE GIRARD DEFENSE PROVED TO BE AN ADMIRABLE FOE.  6 MINUTES IN AMANDA LEWIS SCORED OFF ASSISTS FROM JILLIAN BLASZCZYK AND EMILY CARLIN.  WITH 13 MINUTES REMAINING IN THE HALF HALEY STRASSER SLOTTED HOME A REBOUND FROM A BLASZCZYK SHOT FOR A 2-0 HALFTIME LEAD.

THE GIRARD DEFENSE STIFFENED IN THE SECOND HALF HOLDING THE VICTORS SCORELESS UNTIL 12 MINUTES IN WHEN CHRISTINA DURIS FINISHED A PASS FROM LEWIS.  WITH 14 MINUTES REMAINING IN THE GAME KAITLYN KISSELL SCORED THE FINAL GOAL OFF A FREE KICK.  KUDO'S TO LYNDSEY THAYER, THE GIRARD GOALIE, WHO MADE 28 SAVES DURING THE GAME.

NICOLE SHELLENBARGER AND REBECCA SWENY SHARED THE SHUTOUT IN GOAL.

THE JV'S TIED GIRARD 1-1 BEHIND A GOAL FROM MISSY BLENNER WITH AN ASSIST FROM PAIGE DELAVERN.

UNDEFEATED VILLA AND HARBORCREEK MEET

WITH HARBORCREEK RANKED THIRD IN THE STATE AND VILLA RANKED FOURTH AND BOTH TEAMS UNDEFEATED, YOU KNOW IT WAS GOING TO BE A GREAT GAME.  THE VICTORS, WANTING TO MAKE A STATEMENT EARLY, SCORED IN THE FIRST 24 SECONDS WHEN AMANDA LEWIS FINISHED A THRU BALL FROM KAYLEY JONES AND CHRISTINA DURIS.  EVEN WITH THE QUICK GOAL THE HUSKIES COLLECTED THEIR COMPUSURE AND NEVER RELENTED.  WITH 17 MINUTES REMAINING STEPH COREY GOT LOOSE ON THE LEFT SIDE FOR THE HUSKIES AND BURIED A LOFTED CROSS INTO THE OPPOSITE  CORNER.  WITH 9 MINUTES REMAINING KAITLYN KISSELL PUT VILLA UP FOR GOOD OFF ASSISTS FROM LEWIS AND DURIS.

THE SECOND HALF REMAINED SCORELESS.  CONGRATS TO THE VICTOR OFFENSE AND DEFENSE  WHO WITH 10 MINUTES REMAINING KEPT THE HUSKIES PENNED UP IN THEIR DEFENSIVE END AND NOT ALLOWING A SHOT ON GOAL TO CLINCH THE WIN.

VICTORS OVER SENECA 9-0

THE VICTORS VISITED THE SENECA BOBCATS ON A COLD AND RAINY WEDNESDAY EVENING AND CAME AWAY WITH A 9-0 SHUTOUT.  LEADING THE SCORING FOR THE VICTORS WAS AMANDA LEWIS WITH 4 GOALS, KAYLEY JONES ADDED 2, AND KAITLYN KISSELL, KELSEY WEIBEL AND HALEY STRASSER EACH ADDED A GOAL.  EMILY CARLIN AND JONES EACH HAD 3 ASSISTS, LEWIS AND WEIBEL HAD 2 APIECE AND KISSELL, JILLIAN BLASZCZYK, ALEXIS MONOCELLO AND MARIA NEVILLE EACH ADDED 1 ASSIST.  REBECCA SWENY GOT THE SHUTOUT IN GOAL.

 THE JV'S ALSO WON 3-1 WITH MISSY BLENNER GETTING THE HAT TRICK.

VICTORS OVER YELLOWJACKETS

THE VICTORS PLAYED HOST TO THE GIRARD YELLOWJACKETS ON A COLD TUESDAY EVENING.  JILLIAN BALSZCZYK STARTED THE SCORING FOR VILLA IN THE 37TH MINUTE OFF ASSISTS FROM AMANDA LEWIS AND KAITLYN KISSELL.  KISSELL SCORED 5 MINUTES LATER OFF FEEDS FROM LEWIS AND KELSEY WEIBEL.  WEIBEL SCORED THE FINAL GOAL OF THE FIRST HALF WITH 5 MINUTES REMAINING WHEN SHE FINISHED A CROSS FROM COURTNEY EDWARDS.  THREE MINUTES INTO THE SECOND HALF KAYLEY JONES SCORED WITH ASSISTS FROM LEWIS AND BLASZCZYK.  WEIBEL ADDED HER 2ND GOAL OF THE NIGHT IN THE 25TH MINUTE SHEN SHE TOOK A SHELLENBARGER PUNT AND DROVE TO GOAL AND SCORED.  A MINUTE LATER LEWIS SCORED WITH SHE FINISHED A PASS FROM KISSELL.  JONES SCORED THE FINAL GOAL OF THE NIGHT, LESS THAN A MINIUTE LATER, WITH AN ASSIST FROM CHRISTINA DURIS.  NICOLE SHELLENBARGER GOT THE SHUTOUT IN GOAL.

THE JVS ALSO WON BY A 2-0 SCORE WITH CARLY IMLER AND MISSY BLENNER SCORING.  REBECCA SWENY WAS THE SHUTOUT GOALIE.

VILLA VISITS BISONS

PLAYING UNDER THE LIGHTS AT FT LEBOEUF ON A COOL BRISK NIGHT THE VICTORS HAD THEIR GAME ON.  AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME, IN A SPAN OF 1 MINUTE AND 13 SECONDS THE THE VICTORS SCORED THREE GOALS. SCORING WERE AMANDA LEWIS, KAITLYN KISSELL AND KELSEY WEIBEL.  ASSISTING ON THOSE THREE GOALS WERE KAYLEY JONES 2, KELSEY WEIBEL 2, AND TAYLOR ARTHURS.  CHRISTINA DURIS ADDED A GOAL IN THE 29TH MINUTE OFF FEEDS FROM JONES AND LEWIS.  KISSELL CAPPED THE FIRST HALF SCORING IN THE 23RD MINUTE WHEN SHE SCORED HER SECOND GOAL OF THE NIGHT OFF ASSISTS FROM JONES AND EMILY CARLIN.  THE SECOND HALF STARTED OUT THE SAME WAY WITH JONES AND KISSELL SCORING IN A SPAN OF 51 SECONDS WITH ASSISTS FROM LEWIS, DURIS AND KISSELL. LEWIS FINISHED THE SCORING IN THE 23RD MINUTE OFF A CROSS FROM DURIS.  THE BISONS SAMI PACE SCORED THEIR LONE GOAL WITH 7 MINUTES REMAINING.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE VICTORS ON BEING NAMED THE CHANNEL 12 TEAM OF THE WEEK.  A WELL DESERVED HONOR FOR THE TEAM.
