Head Coach Robert Youtz


Coach Youtz will be entering his fourth season as the Villains Track & Field Head Coach. Coach Youtz was the Assistant Track Coach for the Villains in 2006 where he focused most of his attention on the Distance.  During his first year as an Assistanct Coach, he coached one State Champion in the 1600m.  During his first year as Head Coach he had 2 boys individual qualify, 3 girls qualify and 2 girls relay teams qualify.  He has coached many All-State members on both the girls and boys side.  In 2008 the girls finished 3rd in the state.  He has also coached 2 state champions.    He has coached one Conference Runner of the Year in 2007. In 2009 the girls team finished State Runner-Up and the girls 4x4 team set the state record in that relay.  The boys' 4x4 were state runners up and in 2009 was the highest finishing place for the boys as team finishing in 6th place.

Coach Youtz has continued to build the sport of Track & Field just as he has in Cross Country.  The interest continues to grow and he continues to improve the track facilities and equipment.  He has also started the Villain Relays at Bishop which will be this April, 18th.  This will be the third year of the Villain Relays.  Coach Youtz has also had a key part in starting an indoor track program at Bishop which started in 2008.  This will be the second year for this program.  In its first year the girls finished 2nd in 1A while the boys finished 7th.

Robert Youtz is also the Head Cross Country Coach for the Villains.  Coach Youtz entered his fifth season as the Head Coach of the Villains Cross Country team in 2009. The boys team are coming off their fifth straight State Championship appearance in the NCHSAA. The boys team finished fifth in the 1A State Championships in 2005, & 2006, 4th in 2007, 9th in 2008, & 7th in 2009. The girls are coming off their fourth consecutive trip to the State Championships.  They finished State Runner-Up in 2006 & 2007, State Champions in 2008, & 4th in 2009.

Youtz began his coaching career as volunteer assistant for cross country at his alma mater East Canton High School in East Canton, Ohio from 2001-2002. Youtz moved on to become an assistant Track Coach at Tuslaw High School in Massilon, Ohio for one season 2003.


Coach Youtz ran cross country and track for four years in high school and earned All Conference for track and cross country his Junior and Senior year. Coach Youtz also earned All-State honors his senior year in track. Coach Youtz went on to run cross country and track at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio. While there he earned all conference his Senior year in Cross Country and earned All Conference his Junior and Senior year both in Indoor and Outdoor track.  In both 1997 and 1998 his cross country team was the NCAA National Runner up.


Coach Youtz earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Mount Union College and Master's in Public Administration from Walden University.

Coach Galloway joins the Villains track team this spring for the first time.  Coach Galloway brings a lot of knowledge and experience to the Bishop track team both from a coaching level and from an athletic/competitive level.

 Coach Galloway received his undergraduate degree in mass communication (2007) and is
finishing his master's degree in sports studies at High Point University this May. Coach Galloway is a two time indoor and outdoor Big South Conference Champion in the Men's Triple jump while being a three time all-conference performer in the Men's Long Jump. He currently holds the men's indoor triple jump record at High Point. As a coach, he is a certified USATF Level 1 coach. His coaching experience includes coaching the horizontal jumps at High Point University as an Undergraduate/Graduate assistant and for the AAU Next Level Track club for the past 3 years. 

Coach Galloway will focus his time on coaching the sprinters along with the  long/triple jumpers.  Coach Galloway will also assist Coach Youtz in meet management and overall conditioning of the athletes.  Coach Galloway would like to be become a head coach one day.

Coach Coble enters his second season as Assistant Coach for the Villians.  Coach Coble is an alumni of Bishop McGuinness where he threw the shotput and discus.  While at Bishop he also participated in the 4x100 relay and the high jump.  He excelled in the high jump as he qualified for the state championships in the high jump.  Coach Coble will focus most of his time on coaching the shot and discus throwers.  Coach Coble will also be in charge of the lifting program for the team.  Coach has great experience in the throwing area expecially the discus as he trained the throwers of Appalchian State during his gradrate experience. He will also be in charge of coordinating the lifting program for the team.   Outside of this, Coach Coble will assist Coach Youtz with meet management, meet setup and the everyday duties on the track team.

Coach Coble recieved his undergraduate degree in history from Belmont Abbey College in 2006 and has graduate school experience while attending Appalachian State University.  During the day Coach Coble is a history teacher at Bishop McGuinness.
