Tailgate Dinner Has Strong Support From Viking Fans!

The annual tailgate dinner was held Friday September 25th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. prior to the Viking football game hosting the Hayden Wildcats.  Due to ongoing renovations the tailgate was moved indoors to the school commons. Booster members cooked up hamburgers, hotdogs and brats with a steady crowd of a little over 500 fans enjoying the meal.  The tailgate is a major fundraiser for the booster club with proceeds supporting the coaches wish list that is submitted each year.  After expenses over $2500 will be added to the funds to support the wish list.  Many thanks go out to all that attended the event and the volunteers for their hard work and dedication making this a huge success!

Viking Billboard Receives Repairs

Bill

The Viking Billboard received a facelift in the last few weeks.  Bob Jurgens and Gene Huguenin had tacked, taped and wired all they could over the last few years to keep the letters and numbers in place to keep everone updated on upcoming Viking events.  This year the club voted to receive bids to update the board and all updates are now complete.  Many comments have been received from patrons who state the board is much brighter and easier to read as they drive by.  Thanks to all who worked on getting this completed and a big thank you to Bob and Gene for doing such a great job on keeping the board updated.  If you would like to volunteer to assist with updating the billboard, feel free to contact one of our officers or just drop by one of the scheduled SABC meetings!

Memberships & Reserved Football Seats In Demand for 2009-2010!

Vike8

Is it the anticipation of new turf or more people ready to support the VIKES?  This is the questions our membership and reserved seats committee is asking!  The booster club at its last meeting was thrilled to hear that 110 memberships and 234 reserved seats have ALREADY been sold for 2009-2010!  Many people took advantage of the seat renewal and grabbed their new memberships too!  All seats that were not renewed are now up for grabs, first come first serve!  Anyone who wants to become a member and purchase reserved seats will have the opportunity to do so on August 2nd at the SABC Membership Kickoff at Seaman Stadium.  More details will be posted as the time approaches.

Dinner, Dance & Auction Enjoyed By All!

For parents that had not been to this annual event, questions like "Is it always like this?" and "When is the next one!" were asked many times through the night.  For members that have seen the annual Dinner, Auction and Dance evolve into what is now, know their hard work has paid off.  At 9:00am members began preparing for the event. Starting at 5:30 advertisers and sponsors were thanked for their continued support.  At 7:00 the dinner was enjoyed by an estimated 165 guests, the silent auction was in full gear and the live auction began.  Once again our local businesses, parents and supporters stepped up to raise funds for Seaman Athletics.  New this year was baskets that were donated by each sport.  These were not your typical gift baskets as many were valued at $200 to over $300.  The night ended with everyone enjoying the dance and taking time to relax with friends.  Overall the night grossed over $10,000 for the club.  The funds raised will help assist the coach’s wish list that will be submitted in April.  The last three years the wish list has averaged over $22,000.00  Thanks go out to all that assisted with the baskets, planning for the event and the volunteers.  Special thanks go to our coaches who served all the meals, Connie Brown and Janea Greenwood for coordinating the auction and Ron Minihan and Mark Shughart for the dinner and dance.

Over 600 purchase tickets for Chili Feed!

This years silent auction and chili feed was a huge success.  Over 600 tickets were sold for the chili feed where patrons enjoyed their choice of bowls of chili or chili dogs, nachos and cinnamon rolls.  The silent auction once again had many popular donated items and bids were made right up to the last minute.  The booster club had a profit over $4800 after all bills were paid and can apply this money directly to the Coaches Wish List.  Thanks go to Scott Hildebrandt, Ron Minihan, Rob & Terri Neiswender, Connie Brown and Jaena Greenwood for coordinating this huge event.   Special Thanks to all the volunteers who served, cleaned, took tickets, etc.  This event could not have been a success without your help!
