Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y Clinic

You need to go online and register through the Vernon PAL  online registration system which can be accessed through the website: Vernon Pal website http://www.vernonpal.com/ Classes are typically held three times a year. February, August and November. Call the PAL (973-764-9514) to find out if any classes are scheduled.  Managers and coaches must have a recognized safety certification-- the Rutgers cert. is life long, but will cost the individual a nominal fee.

Pitching Logs

Zero Tolerance Policy
To all spectators, parents, players, managers, coaches, umpires and board members, Vernon little league has instituted a Zero Tolerance policy. This policy has been put in place to achieve a fun and safe experience for Vernon Little League as a whole. All the above mention participants will be held accountable to the zero tolerance policy. Bat Specs

BESR certified—barrel of 2 -5/8” diameter or less and drop of 3 or less
LL:- BPF  of 1.15 certified,  with a barrel of 2 -1/4” diameter or less.


Equipment Regulations

BAT SIZES: Majors and below: It shall not be more than 33 inches in length and no more than 2 1/4 in diameter, no wood bats shall be permitted with a BPF (bat performance number) of 1.15 or less.

BAT SIZES: Seniors: It shall not be more than 36 inches in length, nor more than 2 5/8 inches in diameter, and if wood, not less than 15/16 inches in diameter (7/8 inch for bats less than 30") at its smallest part. The bat shall not weigh, numerically, more than 3 oz. less than the length of the bat (e.g. a 33 inch long bat cannot weigh less than 30 oz.).  All non-wood bats shall meet the BESR performance standard, and such bat shall be labeled with a permanent certification mark. 

GLOVE SIZE: Each fielder, other than the first baseman and the catcher, may wear a glove not more than 12 inches long, nor more than 7 3/4 inches wide.SHOES: 

Shoes with metal spikes are only permitted in the Senior division.

Players must not wear watches, jewelry, pins or other metallic items.  Exception: Jewelry that alerts medical personnel to a specific condition is permissible.

  • Tee-Ball Bats
    Tee-Ball bats are for ages approx 5 thru 7. They are generally used in tee-ball and coach pitch leagues. The bat barrel is 2 1/4 inch in diameter. Bat lengths range from 25 inch to 27 inch. Bat weight is measured in
    weight drop, which varies between brands and models. Heavier bats are around minus 7 weight drop, lighter bats are around minus 13.
  • Little League Bats
    Little League bats are for ages approx 7 thru 12. They are used in leagues including Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie Youth, PONY, and AABC. The bat barrel is 2 1/4 inch in diameter. Bat lengths range from 28 inch to 32 inch. Bat weight is measured in
    weight drop, which varies between brands and models. Heavier bats are around minus 7 weight drop, lighter bats are around minus 13.
  • Senior League Bats
    Senior League bats are for ages approx 13 thru 16. They are used in certain travel and tournament leagues. The bat barrel is available in 2 5/8 inch (high school regulation). Bat lengths range from 28 inch to 32 inch. Bat weight is measured in
    weight drop, which varies between brands and models. Heavier bats are around minus 3 weight drop, lighter bats are around minus 11.
