Welcome to Venture!Welcome to the Venture Crew 145 Web Site. Addisville Church is our home and sponsor. It is Not a church youth group, but is affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. Troop 145 (Boy Scouts) and Pack 145 (Cub Scouts). Venture Crew is for ages 14 - 22.
What Venture Crew is: A group of teens and advisors come together to plan fun adventures, and community involvement, in a safe and positive atmosphere. Focus is on outdoor activities, including Biking, Canoeing, Camping, Skiing, Sailing, etc... you name it, we'll do it!
What Venture Crew is Not: No weekly meetings (meet to plan activities when the group wants to), No Uniforms, No Badges or Advancement Requirements.
Safety - Because it is sponsored by the BSA, venture crews follow strict youth welfare guidelines laid down by the national BSA. This includes, co-ed leadership and having co-ed leadership on all trips, leadership training and ensuring the safety and security of those involved.
Guidance - Mr. Terry Talbot (Troop 145 Scout Master) and Mr. Bill Sharp (Troop 145 Chairman) have signed on as the crews first advisors. We are actively seeking female adult leadership to round out the team. We would ask the girls who will be signing up to help us, by asking a mother, aunt, friend, to volunteer to be an adult leader with us. The only requirement is that the leader be 22 years of age or older, and be interested in joining a fun group of adventurer's.
Why Venture Crew? Mr. Talbot has a 14 year old daughter who has been watching Boy Scouts do fun outdoor activities for years. Now venture crew will enable Lauren, her friends, and any other interested teens to take the same kind of trips, under the same kind of safe programs the Boy Scouts enjoy.
Cost - The cost to register is less than $10. Trip cost is determined by the activity and the number of girls who attend. For example, the cost of the 5 day Nova Scotia Bike trip was less than $100.

Congratulations to all the Crew who made it on the 75 mile bike trip in Nova Scotia! We had an excellent adventure, and look forward to many more. Tell your friends.
