2013 Season Recap

What a great year this was for Van Nest Little League!

We had some excellent weather for the first half of the season and then a lot of rain towards the end. We made up some games and lost some, but a successful season non the less!

We were privlaged to have been asked by Little League International to host the Little League Urban Initiative Jamboree for the New York Metro area. We hosted teams from New York and New Jersey and ran a fun, exciting, and successful 3-day tournament. A Bronx team won the tournament, Pelham Parkway, to make the host county look good!

We saw both of our Junior Division teams, Diana's and Morris Park Ink, continue to get better & grow from last year and  become a force in the inter-league division.

In the Major Division, we had an exciting regular season and for the playoffs Today Realty became 3x defending Champs; DiSquad made a valiant effort though andmade it all the way to the championsip game, with stellar play and great coaching!

The Minor Division was eventful as usual! In the end two different teams, and two new sponsors at that, made it to the championship game. It was a win/win for everyone involved!

Some mid-season chamnges occured in the Junior Minor Division, but the proved to be for the best. We saw more players hitting, fielding, and having an overall good time!

As for the Pee-Wee Division; this is the HEART & SOUL of Van Nest Little League! In this division, the children make new friends, league the basics of the game, and come to have fun on Saturdays & Sundays. This is where the players and coaches establish their roots for years to come.

Most importantly all of the players, coaches, and parents had fun! That is the most important thing to us all!

Have a great summer/fall and we will see you all for registrtaion in September!
