  Valley View Coaching Staff 2015-2016

Coaching Director: Kelsey Fish

Kelsey is the current Head Coach at Cedarcrest High School. Prior to coaching the Red Wolves, Kelsey was the assistant coach at Wenatchee Valley College for 4 years during which she completed her BA in Elementary Education from CWU. She is in her 12th year coaching volleyball and is looking forward to working more with coaches to help promote volleyball and encourage the participation of girls in youth sports

Head Coach: Kendall Koch

We are happy to announce that Coach Koch has returned to Valley View this season. Kendall started playing volleyball at the young age of 12 and through her years has played for top level coaches and teams in Central & Western Washington at the Club and High School levels. Throughout her playing career she has played almost every position and understands all aspects of the game. She has coached at the Boys & Girls Club, WVBA and Valley View.

 Head Coach: Crystal Canady

I started my volleyball career in middle school, and continued through high school playing JV as a freshman and varsity as a sophomore, junior and senior. I played club volleyball for Club Dig It (which was the local club prior to Valley View!) and also for Rain City VBC when Club Dig It closed. Towards the end of my senior year of high school, I was recruited by Wenatchee Valley College as a libero/DS, where I spent the next two years playing community college volleyball (for Coach Fish!) and getting my AAS degree. During my time at WVC, my team fundraised enough money to travel to Nicaragua where we competed against the Nicaraguan National team. We played 5 matches in three different cities, sometimes playing on concrete! It was truly a once in a lifetime experience!

After earning my degree at WVC, I decided to transfer to Colorado State University to study Equine Science, with the goal of eventually going to veterinary school. I was missing volleyball a lot at this time in my life, so I decided to start coaching. I began my coaching career with Colorado North Stars Volleyball Club as an assistant coach for a U17 team. For the next two years I was made a head coach for U15's, and last year I went back to assistant coaching for a U18 team in order to learn from a more experienced coach and for the opportunity to coach at a more competitive level and I'm looking forward to getting back into Puget Sound volleyball and working with U15's again!

Head Coach: Cathy Tiffany

We are happy to announce that Cathy Tiffany will be joining our coaching team! Cathy is a well-known local coach and community member and we are very excited for her to join Valley View. Coach Tiffany grew up in a family of teachers and coaches. She ran long-distance since 2nd grade, did gymnastics from kindergarten through 9th grade, and played volleyball and basketball from 5th grade through high school. In college, she played intramural volleyball and basketball, and took classes in both sports. After college, she started coaching track, volleyball & basketball while she did her student teaching. After working and starting a family, she began coaching basketball again when her oldest son was in kindergarten and hasn't stopped since. She coached all 3 of her children’s basketball teams (sometimes all at once) from YMCA kindergarten to AAU 8th grade, and then Boys & Girls Club volleyball and club practice for her daughter. Cathy currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Riverview Education Foundation (REF) and subs in the Riverview school district, so she gets to see a lot of the kids she’s taught and coached over the years. She is excited to coach with Valley View to give our local volleyball players a program to stay home for.

Head Coach: Whitney Oviatt

This is Coach Oviatt’s 5th year as a Head Coach for Valley View and her 7th year coaching club. She is currently the JV Coach at Cedarcrest High School where she started her volleyball career earning All-Conference honors and participated in the State Tournament. Whitney went on to Simpson College in Iowa where she was a 4 year Varsity Letter earner playing middle blocker. She continues to play in adult leagues around the Seattle area and brings a passion of the game to our club. She is excited to be working with this age group, and is looking forward to sharing her love of the game to young girls.
