The Valley Stream Baseball League is the oldest baseball league in New York state, established in 1943.
In VSBL, our objective is to build teams that stay together year after year.
Friendships formed on VSBL T-ball teams can continue on the baseball field right through high school.
New players can join a team or be placed on a team, and that player has the option of remaining with a particular coach / team for as long as he plays in our league as long as he is of proper age for the division in which his team competes each year.
Players are allowed to change teams if they request to do so after the season.
We play an advanced brand of baseball in VSBL.
As a player progresses through our league, the field dimensions gradually increase. They start at 50 foot base paths at the T-ball level and gradually expand in each division until they reach the 90 foot high school level.
The same goes for the pitchers. They will start at 46 feet and work their way up gradually to the regulation 60 feet. The kids pitch for the first time in the 8 year-old Rookie Division.
VSBL uses a professional adult umpiring organization.
From the moment our players play their first, real baseball game at 8 years old,
they have the benefit of having each call officiated by pros who know the rules of the game, call a consistent strike zone, maintain order,
and see to it that our players play under the best conditions available.
A good umpire knows he is relied upon to make the right call...
it's up to you parents... make the right call the first time and register your child with the VSBL - the right place for him to progress as a baseball player.
