Game schedules entered - verification needed by May 12, 2012.
The final meeting for managers, coaches, and league officiers was on
Sunday, May 6 at 7:00pm.
Game schedules have been entered. I need for each manager to please send me a confirmation email there schedule is entered correctly. If any errors, please email me ddarbenz@yahoo.com the error and I will update.

Any roster or alternate player updates should be submitted and please provide 25 copies of Roster and Alternate players. Also, any schedule changes should be sumbitted.

2012 Initial Meeting
Happy New Year 2012 to all !

2012 Initial meeting minutes
Managers, Coaches, and League Administrators,

Our initial meeting was held Sunday, January 29, 7:00 pm, at American Legion in Jessup.
We had a very good turnout with 14 out of 16 towns / organizations represented (Mayfield and N. Pocono was not in attendance) Both called in advance and let me know they could not make the meeting but plan to be paricipating in 2012.

Meeting was called to order at 7:10pm. First order of business was to elect League Administrator and Divisional Commissioners for the 2012 season.

Dino Darbenzio was nominated for League Administrator and seconded. There were no additional nominations and all were in favor and none opposed.

Pete Brodt was in attendance prepresenting West Scranton Softball a new organization looking to join the Valley League for 2012. West Scranton was nominated and seconded. Vote was all in favor and none opposed. West Scranton will play there home games at Sloan Field located at the end of St Ann Street in West Scranton.

Next, was nomination for Divisional Commissioners.
17U Division - Mark Avellino (Jessup), Mark Wallo (Dickson City), and Pete Brodt (West Scr) were nominated. All were in falor and none opposed.
14U Division - Glen Larnard (Moosic), Tony Fata (Valley Area), and Jeff Kaud (Connell Park) were nominated. All were in favor and none opposed.

A suggestion was introduced by Steve Howanitz, League Treasurer, for adoption, to increase the per team fee from $50.00 to $60.00. Due to the increased used ot two-man umpire crews during the playoffs and classic for the semi-finals, finals, and the "IF" games. The last few years we had to play the "IF" games and this increased our umpire fees paid out. A motion was made and seconded. All were in favor and none opposed.

The rules committee consists all six divisional commissioners. The rules committee was tasked to review the 2011 rules and to have any proposed changes for the 2012 season to be presented at the next meeting. Rules committee will meet prior to our next meeting to present any rule changes for consideration for 2012 season and a vote to confirm would follow.

The ASA individual player registration / insurance has increased from $8.50 per player to $10.50 per player for the 2012 season.

There was a somewhat lengthy discussion on the use of "call-up" players during the regular season and during the playoffs and classic tournamnt. Rules committee will review the concerns that were discussed and will consider adding written rules to address the use of call-up players and alternate rosters.

Next meeting was set for Sunday, February 26, 7:00 pm at the American Legion in Jessup. The meeting ajourned at 9:00 pm.
