Vallejo Little League 2012 Tryout Schedule

We will be accepting Player Signups during each weekend of Tryouts

February 4th & 5th as well as February 11th & 12th

Please report to CALLEN Field, 3rd base dugout at least ½ hour before your scheduled time.

RETURNING MAJORS SHOULD TRYOUT FOR 2012 DRAFT

All ages 7 and up must attend at least 50% [2 of 4] tryouts, NO EXCEPTIONS, to be eligible for the draft.  If you do not attend the required tryouts, players will be placed on a team after their draft by the Player Agent. Not attending 50% of the tryouts can also affect your child’s eligibility for post season play.

You must attend the try-outs during your scheduled age group time.

Please be on time to ensure the coaches for each age group are present for your child’s group.
4 to 6 year olds do not need to try-out.  They will be placed on teams.

All 12 year olds who come to 50% of the scheduled try-outs will be drafted to a Major Division Team as well as all returning Major Division Players

Tryouts evaluations consist of hitting, in-field grounders and out-field fly balls.

**Proper tryout attire consists of hat, glove, pants and rubber cleat shoes**
Rain can be an issue.  If it is raining, call to confirm if we are having tryouts.  We’ve had tryouts in the rain before.  Remember 2 out of the four tryouts must be completed in order to be eligible for the draft.

I want to personally welcome each of you to our Vallejo Little League family of champions.  You have entrusted your greatest gift:  you child to be a part of our youth baseball program.  Vallejo Little League programs are celebrating its 60th year of community support.  Creating a legacy of opportunity and personal achievement: for both our players and their families.   

The VLL Board of Directors wishes to acknowledge the support of our volunteers, the managers and coaches who have dedicated many hours in their preparation for their teams:  tryouts, draft, practices, games and opening day.  We would also like to recognize the local businesses that have contributed and supported VLL either as a sponsor or donor to the many programs being offered.  It is important to acknowledge the ongoing relationships we have with Greater Vallejo Recreation District and the Vallejo Unified School District.  Their support and accessibility to both our league and practice fields is greatly appreciated. 

Our league mission statement acknowledges that baseball provides each child with the opportunity to learn firsthand the values of teamwork, character, passion, pride, communication skills and the ability to overcome adversity.  This tradition was true when I played Little League in Vallejo and is still lives on for each child who chooses to put the Little League uniform on and support these ideals and principles.

 2012 Spring Baseball Campaign

Registration Information 

Vallejo Little League will be offering divisional play for all players who will be Little League Age 4 through 12 per Little League International guidelines for the upcoming Spring 2012 season.  2012 Season runs from late January to Mid-June.

Saturday - December 3rd   [10 A.M. to 2 P.M.]
Saturday - December 10th [10 A.M. to 2 P.M.]
Wednesday - December 14th [6 P.M. to 8 P.M.]

All new and returning players must Pre-Register online and attend walk-in Registration to guarantee placement on a team. 

Registration Process for Spring 2012

Steps to register your child for the 2012 Season: 

  1. Download and Print the VLL Registration Packet – Please review all the instructions and complete the mandatory forms.
  2. Attend one of our remaining tryout weekends.   Bring your completed forms, age and address verification information and a check payable to VLL to walk-in Registration Days at Callen Field Conference Rm. [Upstairs] For more information on the registration process, please reference the Vallejo Little League website or contact Chuck Braxton at 707-373-9826. 
  3. Player Registration fees can now be paid by cash, check or debit/credit card. Payment plans available 
  4. Tryouts will be held on February 4th and 5th as well as February 11th and 12th.  Player Registrations will be accepted both weekends.  Please review registration criteria for age group times and draft requirements.

Registration Day Volunteers Needed: 

Beat the crowds by volunteering to help at one of our scheduled Registration Days. It only requires a few hours of your time and you can be the first to register your child.  If you can help please contact the VLL Player Agent.

Beginning in 1952, Thousands of volunteers have provided their services to ensure children like yours have been given the experience of playing baseball.  Your support is essential to our leagues success in 2012.  Each parent or guardian must complete and submit a 2012 Online Volunteer Registration Form with their Registration Packet.   

Our children’s safety depends on your cooperation.

All new and returning players who wish to be registered for the 2012 VLL Spring Season must attend a scheduled registration and submit a completed Registration Packet.  Please complete your pre-registration documentation prior to attending. _________________________________________________________ 

2012 Volunteer Registration
To help ensure the safety of all the children who wish to participate, each parent/guardian is responsible to complete a 2012 On-line Volunteer Application Form.  Each “field” must be completed providing the requested information for the form to be accepted by the League Player agent during player registration.  Each parent is expected to support our league activities by identifying their interests in any of the following activities:  Team Parent, Scorekeeper, Game Pitch Counter, Team Umpire, Concession Stand Duties, Field Maintenance and Coach.

Additional support and training will be provided by the league throughout the season [refer to league calendar for specific dates and times for league sponsored clinics].

Comming Soon:  E-Script

We will be asking each of our league parents and their families to sign up for E-script.  Utilizing E-Script will all the league to utilize your normal monthly buying purchases such as groceries, gas, etc. to help finance our growing annual expenses and provide additional resources to keep our registration costs at a minimum.
