CIF Semi-Finals: What a nail biter last night was, with a truly outstanding ending!!!!
Like last year, this year’s CIF semi-finals were quite the ‘nail biter’. Last year, ‘the original nail biter’ had Valhalla and El Cap tied until the last 30 seconds of the second overtime, when El Cap scored the golden goal. This year, ‘nail biter- the sequel’, had Valhalla and El Cap tied at 1-1 through regulation and both overtimes. Alyssa scored the goal that tied the game. The assist went to Ellen C. During penalty kicks Amy had a great save setting the stage for the victory. The deal was sealed when Anne-Marie shot the ball into the back of the net. The Norsewomen went home with the win , and earned the right to play in the finals opposing Cathedral Catholic. Coach Shane Martinez gave the game ball to the entire team! As the girls are saying, “We're goin’ to tha SHIP, y’all!”. Well done ladies! Good Luck in the finals!!! Sunday, February 25

Valhalla loses to Granite Hills in last few minutes of game
Valhalla's sideline abounded in balloons, banners, and spirit Wednesday night as the Norsewomen took on the Granite Hills Eagles. The Norsewomen scored a goal in the first half by freshman Devany Savage. That victory was short lived when the goal didn't count because the referee called a fowl during the same play. That call was debatable , but sometimes that is how luck would have it. At half time both teams were locked at 0-0 with equal periods of possession. This remained the case until Granite scored with about 12 minutes remaining in the game. Valhalla fought back valiantly but was not able to put one in the net. The shots on goal for both teams were limited to the lower single digits. The final score was 0-1. Valhalla's overall record is 12-6-1 with league at 4-1-0. Friday, January 26
